A major high light of the trip. You feel the warm welcome in the exceptional and exquisite tastes that the chef and his team mastered. I almost did not want to finish the courses to take in the flavors for as long as I could. I wish I could have a memory block to keep the flavors. Wine pairing is amazing. This low key restaurant worths every bit of fame it has gained and in my view far beyond it. My compliment to the chef and the professional team.
Five stars. The place is cozy and elegant at the same time, and it should be mentioned that the old walls have been excellently and tastefully integrated into the new concept, avoiding the appearance of clichés. One could talk about the food for hours. It gives what one expects from such a high quality place. Each course is a gastronomic journey, an orgy of taste that enchants and makes you wonder how it can be! Also, how can that be? : For those who may prefer non alcoholic drinks, I definitely recommend the juice pairing, which will provide the same special experience as the food. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, they know the answer to all questions, and they provide detailed information about everything. It is a very nice moment that the chef goes to each table and talks to the guests for a few minutes. I would also like to mention all the serving equipment, including everything from plates to glasses. Each one is a gem. We also had a small, extra request, which was handled with extreme flexibility, for which we can only thank you again! : In short, everything was excellent, I can only recommend it.
The overall spice has an oriental feel. Oriental touches such as soy sauce, noju, hwajao, miso, and yuzu add intensity without being clumsy. Personally, I had high expectations for Casino Egg, so I was disappointed that it didn't have a big impact on me, but overall, I liked it because it had an intuitive taste that I was drawn to all the dishes. I came with my boyfriend for a special occasion after a long time looking forward for it. All expectations were beyond exceeded! The food was excellent, we both went for the extended 12 course menu. I personally loved the smoked eel and the fish soup, both my favourites of the night. My boyfriend went for the signature egg with caviar and we were both very surprised by the texture and the developing of the flavours. Every dish was presented with so much detail and caring that just reflected the respect for the product and experience, honestly, excellent! A special mention to the service, every member of the staff that approach the table was so professional and attentive to detail. We felt very looked after with a special mention to the head sommelier, who delivered an exceptional wine experience until the end. The manager was a 10/10, the level of knowledge and professionalism from his side was impressive since the moment we arrived, while serving food, assisting us throughout the experience until the end. The whole team provided one of the best experiences we have ever had in a restaurant for the moment! We just wish we could come back more often! 10/10
I would like to bring to your attention what happened during my trip to Budapest, regarding the attempt to make a reservation at your restaurant Babel, renowned for its Michelin star. On the first day of the new year, my son, who is more fluent in English, contacted your restaurant by telephone to reserve a table for four for the following evening. Following the request, we were asked to provide our email address and to send our credit card details via SMS for necessary verification. Having not received any confirmation via email, my son contacted the restaurant again, and the same person requested that the data be sent again via WhatsApp. We followed these instructions promptly, but despite this, we never received any booking confirmation, either by email or by any other means. Faced with this situation, we turned to another restaurant of the same level, where we had dinner without any problems. However, this evening, my son received a phone call from your staff, in which we were reprimanded, in severe tones, for our alleged absence at your facility. My son tried to explain that the reservation had not been confirmed due to a clear lack of organization on your part. Despite this, the interlocutor proved to be unprofessional and absolutely incapable of understanding our reasons. As a regular customer of upscale restaurants, I was deeply disappointed by this experience. The Michelin star that has been awarded to you should reflect not only the excellence of the cuisine, but also impeccable service and adequate professionalism, qualities which, on this occasion, were not respected in the slightest. I invite you to reflect on what happened and to review your organizational procedures, as well as your approach towards customers. Incidents like this can seriously compromise the reputation of a renowned restaurant like yours. Best regards.
