Four first timers we tried a variety of entrees. Two pasta dishes, a pizza, pork chops. The pizza pork chops were great. The pasta dishes were just ok…one needed more sauce the other was good but not great. Our server was also the bartender so he was hustling, but he kept us well stocked on drinks bread. What Cari Stratton doesn't like about Tusconos:
It was okay. The down town vibe the restaurant had while we waited was very nice! Atmosphere once we got inside was good. They ran out of Alfredo sauce around 7pm, for someone who is not the biggest fan of red sauce, that was a huge bummer. (Had I known, we definitely wouldnt of waited 50 mins) Presentation of all their dishes was very sloppy. But service was good.We won't be back, but we are glad we finally gave it a... The servers were great and friendly. The sea bass I order was terrible. A tasteless fish with zero seasoning that didn't even seemed to have been cooked but warmed up in microwave. The sauce for the dish tasted like they just poured the jar of juice the capers came from onto it and again threw it into the microwave making it a moosh of disgusting waste. My some had the porkchops that smelled like dog and completely tasteless meat. Zero seasoning and over cooked to the point when I tried it because he didn't want to eat it had to chew the drying piece of meat I've had. My woman had the shrimp penne roscana that was suposed to be spicy but the only thing spicy about the bland dish was the two sausages that had black pepper in them. The noodles were undercooked and hard. The rest was again bland underseasoned mess. In the ordering process we were informed the reason sauces and veggies can be changed is because their food is package which is when i should have walked away. Again the servers were great but the food was complete, tasteless, garbage that we spent over 100 dollars on the only thing that was good was the steamed broccoli out of the whole situation. Do not go to this place unless you just want to waste money on slop.
Best kept secret Quality Italian dining right in the heart of
Our visit didn't start on the best foot, when our food arrived, both my main dish(chicken parm) and side(steamed broccoli) were pretty cold and my dish had almost no sauce, The server was nice about it, took them both back, and brought both back out warm. We didn't realize the owner was sitting at the bar right next to our table. Things go far better from there. He checked in on us to make sure everything was good, and it definitely was, the flavors were great, pasta was cooked perfectly as was the chicken. We also had the Tiramisu, and it was spot on, moist, and fantastic flavor! Wish we were spending more time in town to try more things here!!! Parking: There is sufficient free parking on the street in from of the location.
