What User doesn't like about The Trout At Tadpole Bridge:
The restaurant boasts a beautiful location with friendly staff. We enjoyed sitting in the garden, which was quite pleasant. However, the food was just average—unfortunately, the chips that came with all our burgers were cold. On the bright side, both the vegan and beef burgers were flavorful. Nonetheless, I felt the prices were a bit high, likely due to the prime location. View all feedback.
Very nice, food-friendly staff and beautiful location another highly recommended
Is it the trout or should it be called the highwayman? we went with friends, last weekend, and I understand it is a nice pub small hotel next to the river thames, so we probably did not see in the best circumstances how it was with rain when we arrived. the restaurant in the inner was 'not particularly plough wooden chairs and looked like the inner of another pub (especially not a fine restaurant.) that was eating well, but was likely in the direction of the very upper end of what is acceptable, but also intended to make an additional 10% 'discretive service fee' to the bill that if they pay it really makes the eating look very expensive. eg: £18.70 for fish and chips! but the real autobahn robbery takes place when they order the wine. we ordered a standard bottle sauvingnon blanc from the barman (we were 't offered a weinlist) and we were considered that it costs £38 a bottle (plus service brings it to £41.80 a bottle) than the bill arrived! we were not warned (via the price of the weine) by the barman and what makes worse, is that we shared 2 bottles during the meal. so our fish and chip juice came with a bottle of wine that was divided between 2 people to an outstanding £79.20 . an amazing cost for ordinary fish and chips and a standard bottle of wein . I have deducted the service fee from the bill (as we all felt that we were robed blind) and we will never return and never recommend this place to everyone! be warned. unless you have deep pockets. they will be robbed when they buy wein the beer doesn't seem to be blackmailed! eating and drinking was in order, but the night was ruined by the greedy pricing of the weine.

Nice lunch spot with lovely service and a beautiful setting by the river. . Roast chicken and beef looked great, and by all reports, were. Burger was average, a little on the small side and no condiments were offered.Dog friendly too.Kid-friendliness: Very welcomingParking: Pleantly of off-street parking
The Trout Inn is about 10 miles from Lechlade as you walk the Thames path. The chef does a great job with plant based diet. The wait staff are polite. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They get quite a bit of hikers so they are not weird about backpackers. They are a bit pricey. They also could use a guest washer and dryer but oh well!
