I went there and ordered cakes and the waiter suggested that I should order something other than cake because it takes too long to cook them!
There are six or so La Placinte outlets in Bucharest, usually on main boulevards. The menu is very similar in any, but this branch makes a welcome change in the nearby Cotroceni Mall and (at the Covid 19 Aftermath) has many outdoor seating, much...of it not on the pavement. The vast majority of dishes are by default ubiquitous Romanian and are fair to good examples of such, although with moderate to small portions ciorba, mămăliga, meat dishes, sausages all in an illustrated menu, which is a good idea what you are for. The stars are probably the Placinate itself, Moldova cakes with a passing similarity to filo pastry cakes from Greece etc. Beverages cover the range of non-alcoholic, but without something outstanding or from the usual. Prices are not cheap, but you can get a main dish and a drink for €10. I would not recommend this as a food “event”, but a reliable place to get an edible meal in a pleasant place. Service was okay, but also not excellent
It is a good place to eat something in silence. It is a small place, with traditional Romanian music and decoration. I personally prefer this place instead of the shopping mall that is next to this restaurant.
In the first night we hiked in La Placinte a casual restaurant/cafe on a large boulevard. Many local, but also English language menus offered by tourists. We had cabbage rolls, polnta, grilled spits, a salad and Romanian wine. Hit the place for the evening. Is it... the best in town? Probably not, but it was easy to find, comfortable and perfect for two jet lagged tourists.
