a stone throw from the Marriott Grand is this small Lebanese restaurant blending with the surroundings. It is not Posh but has food that makes you want to go back and eat many times a week.we had three starters and two main dishes chosen with the help from the young person, whose attention to detail was exceptional. The Leffe beer went very well the lamb and beef dishes. The warm flat bread was excellent. The Humus was o... What User doesn't like about La Oriental:
Reading some comments it's good but sorry food is just terrible all tastes the same, garlic sauce tastes like the garlic was not fresh cause it had more a green/grass like taste. Amount is not wow and presentation what can I say. I would say what ever you do or if your on a budget don't go here I prefer freaking McDonalds over this place. To bad I can't give less then 1 * View all feedback.
Four of us were staying at the Marriott and we decided to try La Oriental which is a short walk from the hotel on the other side of a wide boulevard. First a few words of caution: The immediate neighborhood is okay but you need to watch where you walk because people apparently don't pick up after their dogs in that area. The only other warning is to wait for the traffic lights, use the cross walks, and still be cautious if you walk to the restaurant from the Marriott. The good news is that the food is excellent and the service is also very good. The dishes offered are very typical Mediterranean/Lebanese such as baba ghanoush, hummus, moussaka, lentils, including lentil soup, tabbouli and a fried cauliflower dish that was exceptional. They have bar service so wine, beer and other alcohol is available. Prices are very reasonable as well. The air conditioning was a bit weak the night we were there but it was an unusually hot day/evening in mid August.
This was one of the most tasteful Lebanese lunches I've had in my life. Tried five dishes and each piece of food was an experience on itself. The baba ganoush was amazing ! Highly recommended !
We ate here on the 29th of July. The service was good. The terrace was a good place to sit.The food was tasty - especially the lentil soup. The hummus and egg plant mezze were great. The lebanese bread could be more fresh.Definitively recommended!
This restaurant is not far from jw Marriot hotel. Came there with friend for lunch. We ordered Humus for starter and it reminded the Humus you can buy in Israeli supermarket-it lacked flavour! We asked for hukka but waiter said she doesnt have...So we have waited 20 min for meat and we served with 3 types of meat: chicken , kebab and another type that i cant remmember. The meat was very average and very very dry and had no flavour at all.Prices are ok but i wont go back... Bucharest has better leabanece restaurants...
Staying at the Marriott hotel, we wanted to avoid eating in and instead try restaurants in the local area. La Oriental was just a couple of minutes away and offered a menu in English with pictures of all available dishes. The quality of the food was excellent and we ended up going back twice during the same week. The waitress was very attentive and food was delivered reasonably quick.Regarding price, it was very reasonable. For 4 people + drinks we ended up paying the same price as for 2 breakfasts in the Marriott hotel. Highly recommended and will be going back next time I am in Bucharest.
