Our steaks were cooked perfectly and were beautiful cuts brought to our table prior to going on the grill. The appetizer and sides were also brilliant and truly made the meal. The service was top notch with our server truly knowing wine service beyond what I have gotten at Michelin star restaurants. Now the one bad note was the cigarette smoke. We arrived and were immediately greeted by so much smoke in the main dining room. This is something I have not encountered in years in a restaurant. We were asked if a table on the rather cold enclosed patio would be acceptable and we decided to stay considering the 20 minute drive. If the food hadn't been so to great I would have really regretted the decision. It really took away from the restaurant vibe being isolated just to be able to enjoy our meal. No idea if this was an isolated incident or the norm but it's a shame that I couldn't give five stars across the board. Wagyu burger was a complete d... read more The service was really bad, the waiters barely spoke English. The athmosphere didn't suit the description of a gourmet restaurant. Wagyu burger was a complete disaster. We ordered medium cooked burger and got overcooked meat. The side dish that came with the burger was store bought frozen potato fries and plain bowl of greens. The buns were really dry as well. The only gourmet experience was the beef tartar. We weren't offered the option to taste the wine first when the waiter opened the bottle, he just filled our glasses unevenly. When we got the bill, 10% tip was included without even asking. When we refused to pay the tip, the waitress started acting like a child, passively-aggressive, and threw the new bill on the table. If you expect a high end experience, this is not the place.
