In spite of the 39C today in Bucharest the place under the trees was perfect. The food was very testy. Please try the trout. The service is very good. It is a place were you can relax. Please be advise that they accept only cash. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Casa Oamenilor de Stiinta:
I'd say this place is a trip to the 80's. But the we used to starve because of the Ceausescu regime. So... here is an utopia trip to a "ideal Bucharest", back in the 80's: the prices are more than friendly for the location, the service is "back to the 80's" and the food is just average. But in the summertime the garden is just fantastic. I would recommend the spot for a few beers or glasses of wine. View all feedback.
We visited this “friendly” place about an hour ago. Before the order we decided to take some photos on the stairs. The waiter came to us and said we have to pay 500 CZK for photos. We were shocked and asking...him “Maybe 50 ron” but he aggressively said “no 500 ron!!!”. Suddenly, unfamiliar drunken person like a friend of this waiter or someone from the stuff not on his duty) came to us and shouts all bad words like “YOU ARE F*CKING B*STARDS GO AWAY FROM HERE”. On this situation, waiters react as he is happy that someone helps him with such a robbery, but does not react like a normal waiter who really “will throw away this p*ssy boy”. At normal places with so high score on this site you expect positive emotions. We are not looking forward to this place for anyone. And dear administration of this “perfect” place, you kindly take a look through the cameras you all have and deal with your waiters like them with your customers. Again NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Very beautiful garden, hidden in the middle of Bucharest by Hilton at Roman Square. Friendly staff, good aithentic Romanian food at very decent price, good Romanian wine, also a historic building worth visiting!
Perfect tavern in the center of Bucharest, beautiful music, beautiful ambience, good food at a very decent price, give nostalgic memories used for romantics to the old times..
Showed up on a saturday night : doing inventory , on a sunday lunch : fully booked but you can come back in one hour (empty restaurant, no table even set... . Tonight : no gas ... Too bad, the few times i got dinner there the food was...good and well displayed, the staff friendly and the bill reasonable...
On a nice day, I would suggest ordering a drink and enjoying the outdoor scenery in the garden in back of this stately mansion. The grounds could really use some landscaping work.
