if you want to feel like in a tavern in Greece, but in the middle of a bukarest, amada is the place to be. cozy terrace and delicious Mediterranean cuisine perfectly cooked on the heart. View all feedback.
Definitely no walk-ins here: no signs and located in a shaded garden in a non-descript side street! But it is best to reserve: we were glad that we found the place full except for a few reserved tables when we arrived on Monday 2000.... After we had read other reviews, we expected a waiting period, but we had quickly delivered drinks, along with the table menu. Three starters plus two nets ordered, and all came with what we considered perfect timing. All were at least very good, filled Squid excellent. The food prices were good, but 140 for wine very expensive (not much choice and it was our fault to ask the boss without checking the price.)
We booked a table on Thursday evening, assuming it would be busy. We arrive there and it was dead quiet, only one other couple and the kitchen seemed closed. We ordered some drinks, but decided to leave s several menu options were not available and...the waitress did not seem too keen to deliver service, but rather play games on her phone. This place has so much potential as a hidden little gem, with a lovely bohemian setting in a garden with a fountain, and I am sure it was very popular before and become a victim of its own success, I don't know. We decided to leave after our drinks and not have dinner here.
Was my first time at Amada, and even though when i arrived the restaurant was empty, later on lots of people joined. The concept behind this restaurant is- healthy-fresh food- they serve limited quantities of what they have fresh in that particular day. We had...the spicy cheese, tuna paté, and a seafood platter and we’ve payed around 210 lei~ 45€ for 2 pers. It’s not cheap but the quality of the food justifies the price. I had a glass of rose wine, vey good one, even though I’m quite picky when it comes to wine. If you want really tasty seafood, Amada is the place to go. The service was ok, nothing to complain about. I will definitely go back there to eat.
