I visited Sakura after a doctor's appointment and was welcomed by the manager. I placed a To-Go order for the Sashimi Jo, which cost $26.95 on the menu. However, my card was charged $49.22; while I’m not accusing anyone of wrongdoing, the receipts are clear. The three tuna slices were very small, cut incorrectly, and frozen in the center. The two yellowtail slices were cut properly and of average size. Similarly, the three red snapper pieces were small and cut poorly. The two salmon slices were cut correctly and average in size. I didn't even touch the four krabi sticks, and while the two octopus pieces were a good size and well-cut, someone placed a slice of lemon between them, completely altering the flavor. Overall, this experience was not what I expected and was quite disappointing—overcharged and below par.

On my drive to Mississippi, I decided to stop by Sakura for sushi, and what a pleasant surprise it was! I didn’t have high expectations, but they were completely exceeded. I ordered the spicy tuna lunch roll and a dragon roll. The spicy tuna roll was quite good, featuring decent pieces of tuna. A few pieces even had a crunchy mix that added an unexpected but delightful twist. The dragon roll was comparable to the offerings at some of the better sushi places I've visited. Plus, I appreciated that they included fish roe on their sushi, as it seems many places nowadays skip that in favor of cheaper options.

Regrettably, the Hot Sake, initially served at room temperature, was later discovered to have been hastily microwaved for 40 seconds—a practice generally discouraged for such a delicate libation. It is imperative to note that microwaving Sake is an unconventional and inappropriate method. The Chirashi bowl, alas, proved less than appealing, characterized by pieces of fish inexpertly cut, diminutive in size, and seemingly haphazardly arranged atop a bed of sushi rice. Despite the menu's assertion of seasoned rice, the actuality fell short of this declaration. In addition, the presentation of the Hibachi dinner left much to be desired, featuring rubbery textures in both the chicken and scallops. Furthermore, the optional fried rice, at an extra cost of $3.45, arrived cold. Although the waiter obligingly replaced the rice, the overall dining experience remained far from gratifying. Noticing our discontented expressions and largely untouched plates, the attentive waiter earnestly inquired about our concerns, encouraging honesty in our feedback. While we conveyed our dissatisfaction with the Sake and Chirashi bowl, we refrained from detailing our disappointment with the Hibachi meal.Subsequently, the waiter promptly conveyed our concerns to the manager, who engaged in a discussion while we settled the bill. As the manager approached the checkout counter, acknowledging our grievances, a gesture of goodwill in the form of a gift card was proffered. However, given the extent of our dissatisfaction, it appears unlikely that we would avail ourselves of such an offering, contemplating a future return to the establishment with a degree of skepticism.

Very nice to have a hibachi place so close to me. It was a great experience, great food and very nice staff, and reasonably priced...

The sushi roll lunch special was enjoyable. The salmon avocado roll was decent, while the spicy tuna roll was outstanding. The side of fried rice was also very tasty. Personally, I prefer Japanese fried rice over Chinese fried rice, although I find both to be quite good.
