The service I must say was impeccable and the young lady could serve all the tables speaking also a good English as most of the clients were Swedish when we were there . The home made food was delicious and beautifully presented . Good portions we had amazing purple potato gnocchi with a light cheese fondu and pistachios , perfectly cooked deer and tasty smoked trout tartare . Very good homemade deserts and a very good selection of wines from all over Italy .

They were very busy and we had to wait for about 25 mi... read more After arriving in Aosta Valley and enjoying the street market in Verres, we booked for lunch at Laghetto. They were very busy and we had to wait for about 25 minutes, even though we had booked. The dining room is elegant with traditional wood lining on the walls and other ornaments. We ordered typical food of the area .... crespelle Valdostana (crepes filled with Fontina and ham), vegetable and cheese flan, beef carbonade stew with enriched polenta. The carbonade was especially good with the meat being lean and tender. We enjoyed a good bottle of regional Pinot Noir and as we had not finished it we were able to cork it and take away. The staff were friendly and professional, certainly not stressed or tired, even though it was a super busy Sunday. Their parking area was full so we parked in a side street about 100 metres away. A very nice experience by the artificial lake which gives the restaurant its name.

There wasn't any available table however, the waiter told me that outside the restaurant there was a take away which served the same restaurant meals. I took a polenta with meet and a bottle of water. Price €8.50. I think it's a great deal for people who want to taste the local food and they have limited time. Plus, outside the restaurant there is a beautiful picnic area with benches and trees if you're seeking for a power nap after lunch.
