After a long day on the train came to rainy Brussels and searched for an open place and not too far from where I was (Place Rogier). Le Gland was open, was in my budget, and the other reviews sounded promising. I have lived in the NY Metro area for over 35 years and I would place it as a cross between a NY-style pizza and a New Haven-style (specific Pepes) pizza. The outer crust had a really nice chewing. I was totally surprised in a very good way. The anchovies were top notches, not too fishy or salty. Sauce was sweet, but not too sweet. Well balanced and good value. I am still in town for a few days and I will definitely be back for a charcuterie plate (and maybe another pizza and beer, they have a cantillon on the menu).
This hidden gem of a restaurant is a must-visit for everyone. We stumbled upon it while exploring Brussels and we are so grateful we did. The owner warmly welcomed us and guided us through the menu. We opted for a generous charcuterie and cheese platter, which was absolutely delicious. The owner expertly paired our meal with wines, allowing us to sample different options before making a selection. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, and we were thrilled to chat with the owner about the vinyl records playing in the background. He even treated us to a regional olive paste we had never tried before. All ingredients were locally sourced and the owner provided detailed explanations about each dish. We only wish we had more time in Brussels to revisit this amazing restaurant. Highly recommended!
This pizza place may seem random, but it is hands down the best in Brussels. The owner is always on hand to ensure the best quality food. I highly recommend trying the bufala mozzarella pizza!
The owner of this restaurant wears many hats: cooking, ordering, serving, and more. He runs this establishment to share his passion for food and wine. The owner recommended a fantastic wine for 36€ per bottle, but also suggested a more affordable option at 23€ that paired well with our starters and pizza. The only downside was that he only had beer from Soleil (Brussels brewery L'ermittage).
Really nice, helpful, cozy, don't let the frensh menu discourage you the straff is good at english and Will help you. Obviously great flavours and superb wine.
