If you are looking for a place where you eat well in the center of bruselas and where you have the opportunity to try some of the main dishes of the Belgian gastronomy, then I recommend you without a doubt the guinguette in ville, very close to the square of the sant kitchen, an area of terraces and very lively restaurants the local is not very large, but yes very cozy. is decorated as most of the classic Belgian premises. wooden floors, small tables close to others, big old mirrors. Anyway, a lovely place where you eat very well the menu is divided into two parts. on the one hand, it has some of the main classic dishes of Belgian gastronomy. for the other, something more modern with some French influence. a recommendation they made us and I strongly recommend you after trying, is that you try the famous croquettes. They are actually chromchatons for their large size. the traditional one is of small gambitas, but also make another of very good cheese other of the typical dishes of the area, are the mussels with fries, star dish of the Belgian gastronomy (have classics, with garlic sauce or the sailor), the asparagus, or the horse meat steak, a very consumed meat in Belgium.
Beautiful restaurant with a very careful gastronomy. the letter is divided in two ways, the first with a traditional Belgian cuisine and the second with a more modern kitchen with different trends. We, newly arrived at brustels, opted for the traditional and the truth is that it was exquisite. applause for croquettes (especially shrimp) and for horse meat. everything, as always, accompanied by classic Belgian fries.
I'm going to take part in signing this presentation because the owner comes from the same region as me in France, cad les Cévennes, but the cuisine takes seriously the turn for its originality and respect for the values of the terroir. Don't hesitate if you like classical but refined cuisine. Olivier
