while not specializing in Veg food, edi has a clear selection on its menu of Veg options. I had a burger and a cake from here, both were great. may not be suitable for vegans, but vegetarians will be in order. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Edinburgh Castle:
a relaxed atmosphere, with very fast service. I ordered the flatbread with hummus and the pumpkin pizza made vegan. we had both plates within 10 minutes. the waiter confirmed that the articles were vegan when they served them. the flatbread was very bland, but the pizza was delicious and filled. the vegan cheese was good. I ordered the potato salad with vegan option on 1/2/17 in the evening. it came up with an egg. I find that inevitable and will never go there again.
Look. I may be a little biased. I'm a regular at the EC, and I'm very close friends with a bunch of the staff and one or two of the dudes that live upstairs. But I reckon that qualifies me to give you a real, tested opinion on the joint. It's the best. Three years ago when I first started visiting it was pretty great, but a bit dreary. Since then, particularly with the arrival of Hannah and then Omar behind the wheel, things started brightening up ALOT. These people love their venue. Don't forget it's their local too. They want great things to happen there. They've been actively encouraging relationships between local brewers, musicians, artists and all manner of performers and creatives who need a place to do their thing. Craft beer sessions so that staff and locals can learn about beer side by side. Welcoming local crazies inside for a pot and a chat without a trace of snobbery or sarcasm. Constantly brainstorming ideas for specials and events that will keep punters interested and feeling included. They're about the people and they're really good at making that Public House exactly that. Long live The Castle (Five stars if you reckon less yer a nerd and get outta here off to tankerville with yiz)
Thanks for paying your staff penalty rates on public holidays. Glad to eat drink somewhere that looks after its workers!
This restaurant is a lovely and friendly place where you can relax with your dogs, and the food is also excellent. I highly recommend it for a fun and enjoyable dining experience.
