The restaurant offers a good selection of gluten-free menu items, and the waitstaff even checked if I had celiac disease when I was placing my order to inform the kitchen. I felt secure dining there.
The staff seemed unaware of cross-contamination issues. When I inquired about gluten-free desserts, they directed me to a display cabinet where both gluten-filled and 'gluten-free' items were mixed together. They appeared quite confused when I tried to explain the concept of cross-contamination.
There are some gluten-free options on the menu, and the waiting staff made sure to inform the kitchen about my celiac condition when I placed my order. I felt confident and safe eating there.

My wife was pleased with her perfectly made flat white, and the kids adored their hot chocolates. For other hot beverages, the hot lemonade was a unique and refreshing option. As for the food, I highly recommend trying the duck waffles for something savory, and the chocolate waffles for something sweet. The vanilla-infused simple syrup with the crumpets made them a standout choice. We made sure to try something different on each visit, and we were never disappointed.
Atmosphere and service: The restaurant is spacious with an industrial vibe, and they even roast their own coffee on the premises. The atmosphere is typically busy but relaxed, making it a popular brunch spot in the local area. The service is exceptional - on my first visit, a waiter even helped me search for the person I was meeting for several minutes! Would I recommend it: Absolutely, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, even if it's just for the incredible coffee. It's definitely worth it!
During our short stay in Melbourne, we were recommended to visit Brunswick as a cool place to explore. After arriving at the station, we asked a stranger on the street for a recommendation for a nice brunch spot in the area, and he suggested Code Black. We were truly impressed with this recommendation and would thank him a million times if we could! The atmosphere of Code Black is eclectic and transports you to a different world and time from the moment you arrive. The menu was creative and well-priced, with beautifully presented dishes that tasted amazing. Our waitress was lovely and we enjoyed a nice chat with her. We also couldn't resist ordering a coffee, which was made from their own roasted beans and was delicious. Overall, we highly recommend Code Black to anyone visiting Melbourne! - The two French boys.
Just awesome. Apparently two words are not enough. This place has a great menu, fabulous coffee and great staff.

I ordered the smashed avocado without feta, but unfortunately I received it with feta. It would be appreciated if the staff would pay more attention to their customers' dietary preferences.
The restaurant offers a selection of thoughtful vegan dishes that are rich, tasty, and very flavorful.
