Found this place because my husband is into craft beers, so he was on a mission and had heard great reviews. Was some initial confusion, because there is two addresses for 98 Lygon St, but managed to work that out with help from a friendly taxi driver.Great atmosphere, fabulous old building, we stayed here for a couple of hours while we enjoyed a great range of craft beers and we enjoyed the signature meal of crab an... It's a good range, but has an almost Burnley-like lack of atmosphere. Hard to see what the point is - beer nerds with clipboards? The Australian saisons... why does everyone buy the same market research and make the same thing? View all feedback.
With a good range of beers on tap and some comfortable seating (sport on TV and music in the background), The Alehouse is a good spot to unwind. I was in transit and chose a pale ale. It refreshed me for my onward journey.
Love this unpretentious local establishment. These guys know their beers and have constantly rotating taps so there’s always something new to try. Also some good wines, spirits, a small courtyard out back, snacks and often sport on the tv in the adjacent room. Worth a regular visit!
This place is a bit of a hike to get to. We took the 96 tram then walked 10 min. One taste of the Black Hops Hornet IPA (6% was all we needed a perfect citrusy beer. Also had the Mexican food quite hot and not bad. Enjoyed watching an Aussie Rules game on the big screen TV.
Had a lovely evening, at The Alehouse Project. Took part in the weekly Trivia Quiz. Great friendly atmosphere and good fun. They have a wide range of on Tap craft beers and much more to choose from. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Really enjoyed our evening at the The Alehouse Project. The variety of ales made it an interesting evening and the staff added to the experience with their knowledge of the ales they served. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend a visit.
