I've been in quarry for a few years. that was very disappointing this time. fish and inkfish were gummy, and the lamb was a bit dry, the chips were over boiled. the service was in order by the staff not rude or unkind, but they did not realize when it was table service or not. in the past, when we sit outside, we had to go inside to order, but when we sit in his table service. either it is good as long as the instructions are clear, and this personal was just a little young and inexperienced, though pleasant. it was above all eating that was very surprising. the guests we brought, never asked to bring them back. I hope that this was a unique experience, as the venue is in good condition and so far is known for fresh, beautifully cooked and affordable pub life. Thank you.
Great to break the lockdown at an old fave. Great pub food and good service. They know how to cook a steak and the parkas are giant sized. Glad to support our local businesses get back into the game. Thanks Quarry people.
On Thursday evening at 18:30 a.m. sitting with my friend for dinner, the pub was not busy. originally ordered a chicken carving and bangers and mash over the theke of this waitress in blonde (not get their names). I asked how much it would cost, she replied $46 but due to the public celebration there would be a 15% supplement above, so there would be $52.90 if that was ok. I did not recognize the 15% supplement, so I politely asked the waitress to keep the order, I go back to my table to inform my friend. after my return to my table I realized that I didn't have the menu with me, so I back in the counter to the menu and back to my table. at this time the waitress came to us, she wore the mobile Epos machine in her hand and asked me to pay now! I told her I didn't decide to go on when I had to talk to my friend. she did not accept my explanation and stopped pushing the Efpos machine to my face by asking me! I've never felt so humble before my friend, and I said I wouldn't pay for something I hadn't agreed. she kept pushing me to pay again and she said the order had already been sent to the kitchen and it was too late. She kept saying, "It's too late" twice with me. I have to pay for it. her manier was almost in an annoyed condition that felt embarrassed. I was standing on my floor. I knew my right and determined not to press it, although I could understand how most people are supported by the pressure in this situation. the waitress said good and warned that she will get her manager to talk to me and go away. as we still saw in the menu, feeling a little sour taste, a lady later approached us from the kitchen and she wanted to know everything is in order. I explained my page of history, then she told us that she is the manager of the hotel and her name is sophie. sophie explained the reason why the waitress had asked me to pay because they sent the order to the kitchen and instead of the cancellation that she paid us for the bill. it was the tone and the attitude of the waitress who made us feel, she was manipulatiw and this service was appalling. sophie tried to conceive us that we do not have to pay for everything we had not agreed, and she will simply send the cancellation to the kitchen. at the end we ordered a chicken carving and a spicy cauliflower. in fairness the meal was quite delicious and the part was generous. second visit to the quarry hotel, I find the service through this waitress and the whole experience egregirical. and if this is how they “print” customers in similar situations, surely the business will land in the burning line of the social media vitriol, which intensifies with any negative comments and complaining. as we go to the quarry hotel and to foot to the door, I'm sure I won't be back!
Old school footy pub with awesome parmy, great beers and the best service. A real treat. We were really well looked after and the food was all cooked fresh. Best parmy I've had in many years.
Staff are friendly and helpful and clean. Food came really quick! We had the ceasar salad and chicken Parma. Normally Ceasar salad is ok but this one was super good! Wolfed it right down with some Kirin Ichiban on tap. Just not a fan of bar stools which was the front half of the place.
