We went on a Sunday evening and there were 4 of us. We sat on the ground floor at the front of the shop. Great atmosphere, not too noisy, friendly and informative staff. Food was so yummy!! We shared some antipasto, then enjoyed the slow cooked lamb, beef ragu, Sicilian sausages and a dish of calamari, prawns and grains. Vegetables and salad on the side. Cost around $370 for 4 of us, but in addition to entree and mai... View all feedback.
What Klaudia Woźniak doesn't like about Bar Idda:
On my first visit a year ago I loved this place. We had a good table downstairs, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food fantastic. That all changed on the second visit. The only space available was upstairs. This turned out to be...as grim as upstairs rooms usually are. A white room lit by two energy saving down lights that threw shadows everywhere and made people look grey and washed out. For goodness sak... View all feedback.
We were shouted a meal at Bar Idda by our children to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful night out. Our kids had all eaten here before and recommended the banquet wow, we weren't disappointed!! We especially loved the barramundi, the...ragout, the chargrilled corn and the lamb rump.An amazing feast in a nice laid back atmosphere.
For years I wondered why there weren’t many Sicilian restaurants. I’m glad to see more and more pop up. Bar Idda is a wonderful restaurant that serves authentic Sicilian dishes, it is what I wanted way back. Try the bbq swordfish, it was superb. Spaghetti...with swimmer crab, very Sicilian and delicious. Normally with Sicilian dishes, I always start with a simple antipasto, bread, with green olives and salami, then the pasta dish followed by a meat dish. The desert was outstanding, the homemade Nutella and walnut was magical.
4 of us for a birthday very very good food from the pickles and eggplant to the mains the swordfish was spectacular the maitre' d seemed somewhat bored as the evening wore on but that was a minor blemish
Bar Idda is situated in a historic building that exudes charm and character. The service is warm and accommodating, and the atmosphere is bustling and lively. It may not be the ideal spot for a quiet, peaceful meal, especially on a Friday night. We opted for the smaller set menu, which offers a variety of small dishes that come together to create a satisfying meal. The assortment of dressings and sauces are particularly delightful, and the standout dish was the barramundi encrusted with almonds. The restaurant boasts a great selection of local and Sicilian wines, as well as cocktails and craft beers. Overall, we had a fantastic evening celebrating a special occasion at Bar Idda.
The restaurant was bustling on Saturday night, even at 7pm. The food was incredible, and the standout dish for me was the amazing macaroni (slow-cooked beef and pork ragu with freshly made pasta). The wait staff was outstanding.
