We met friends here today for Sunday lunch. We all had the Carvery which was superb. The joint of beef was cut so large thick it was so tasty. The meal is terrific value. The staff were so very helpful as we had a gentleman with a walking stick in our party. The whole ambience, lights ,decorations, made for a pleasant tasty Sunday lunch. The Carvery is a real recommend. Our only gripe can be eating at 2pm there were hardly any vegetables they were barely like warm.
Welcoming staff, great food and a good selection no scrimping on the meat. They offer different size portions. Prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking.
We dined today as a family meal. On arrival the member of staff took our temperatures who was polite. When ordering drinks from the bar the older member of staff abruptly ordered my family member he should be wearing a mask. (please consider sometimes that people have long term health conditions) The meal I ordered was the same size of my 6 year olds kids meal. (only £3 more) Anyway the food wasn't anything special. Not be returning anytime soon.
We had a fantastic meal here last week. Walked in had out temperature taken and shown to a table. The food was excellent. The staff attentive. After walking out of another pub because of the lack of social distancing and the herd of kids running around, to come to the Hoggs Head was a breath of fresh (safe) air. Bonus is Boris paid half
