Jack Saloon - Brossard Canada
Jack Saloon
Description
A bustling spot for smoky comfort food and late-night vibes, this restaurant charms with attentive staff, generous portions and standout smoked wings, ribs and creative sides. Expect lively nights with a dance floor and themed promotions, but be warned: drink prices can be steep and sometimes undisclosed, music shifts abruptly, and service choreography can feel scattered. Food ranges from excellent smoked dishes to hit-or-miss mains; limited parking and event-driven pricing make it best for special nights out rather than everyday dining.

On top of that, we were approached by several different waitstaff asking for our order, even after we had just placed it. While we appreciate their attentiveness, we felt that a bit more organization would go a long way, especially since it was a quiet afternoon and the restaurant was nearly empty.
My first impression upon entering was quite positive; the decor is quite nice, making it a pleasant place to linger for a while. I ordered the smoked meat poutine along with a non-alcoholic cocktail. It took a bit longer than expected for my food to arrive, and I was quite hungry while waiting. When my meal finally came, I can't say I was either disappointed or overly impressed, but it certainly satisfied my hunger. The smoked meat was well-cooked and tender, which is always a good sign. The cheese was enjoyable, but I found the fries to be a bit too soggy for my liking. Overall, it was a decent meal. However, since the bar scene isn't really my thing, I’m giving it 3 stars. It's a good spot to grab a bite, though!
I’m never disappointed when I visit this restaurant! I typically go during the day because it tends to get quite crowded and noisy in the evenings. If you enjoy great music, then the night is definitely the time to go. Personally, I prefer lunch there. The staff is extremely friendly, and the decor adds a fun touch. It’s easy to see why they call it Jack Saloon! The service can occasionally be a bit slow, but the food is fantastic. I’ve been there a few times and always make an effort to try something new. Recently, I had the Outlaw – fried chicken waffles – and they were really good!
When the bill arrived, we could hardly believe our eyes! The pint of Stella cost $20.99, plus tax, and the two IPAs totaled $38.01, also before tax. Clearly, we would never have ordered these drinks had we known the outrageous prices. There was no mention of the prices on the menu, and we received no prior warning. The server just laughed when we expressed our shock at the cost, casually mentioning that they must have recently raised the prices. In total, three pints with tax came to $67.84. I understand that prices can increase during Formula 1 events, but we were a week away from that. In any case, let this serve as a reminder to always ask for prices when they aren't listed on the menu. This restaurant is a tourist trap that unsuspecting patrons should avoid! It's no surprise it only has three stars on Yelp; it deserves two stars fewer in our opinion. Stay away!
I began my meal with a serving of their wings, which are available in portions of 3 or 6, and each piece is a whole small wing. They arrived on a small plate and had a slightly charred appearance, but they were actually smoked to perfection, boasting a wonderful flavor and juicy meat; my only complaint is that they were a bit small. For my main course, I ordered the maple salmon, which was somewhat underwhelming. I expected a stronger maple flavor and found myself questioning whether the salmon was cooked properly. It was served with sweet potato fries, which I had hoped would be a healthier option, but they were delicious when dipped in their BBQ sauce, which is fantastic.
