Hobbie's Hideaway - Brookville

We stayed at Hobbies last February and had a fantastic experience. Sue was a wonderful host and incredibly accommodating. The beach was perfect for our 15-month-old. The location was peaceful and serene. We look forward to returning to this amazing vacation home in the future.

Our apartment was only comfortable for me with the noisy window air conditioner running. However, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us as best as they could. They picked us up from the airport and took us to a nice grocery store to stock our kitchen. They also offered rides in their SUV wherever we wanted to go. One memorable evening, we were treated to a delicious meal prepared by local cooks upon the owner's return to the island. Still, what I truly longed for was to swim and relax on the beach just outside our apartment. Unfortunately, both options were not easily accessible due to the location and the relentless sand fleas. We could only reach the water after walking across the beach to a long pier or by getting a ride into town to a public beach that was crowded with locals and tourists. We often joke about the unexpected adventures that come with traveling, but this experience had a bit too much of the unexpected for my liking.

The apartment is stunning—bright, spacious, and impeccably clean. The view is fantastic, and the atmosphere is quiet. Our experience was flawless from the moment Ronald picked us up at the airport, brought us to get groceries, and helped us get settled in our room. He also took us on a wonderful island tour and snorkeling adventure. Taxis were easy to find, and we were within walking distance of Blue Island Divers and Salty Mango, which serves delicious food. Sue and Ronald routinely checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Sue is an excellent hostess, and we enjoyed having drinks and engaging conversations with her.
