Contribute FeedbackThe Pearl Room restaurant offers a mix of opinions from visitors. Some diners were disappointed by the mediocre food quality and unusual smells, while others enjoyed the cocktails and lively atmosphere. Service seemed to be hit or miss, with long wait times and incorrect orders for some. Many praised the owner, Anthony, for his warm hospitality and introduction of exciting menu items. The restaurant has potential but could benefit from consistency in service and food quality. However, it remains a popular spot for celebrations and special occasions in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
This restaurant is a hidden gem for dinner. After my Goddaughter's birthday party, a group of friends and I decided to try it out. The specialty items offered for both appetizers and entrees were a highlight. We were all very satisfied with our dinner choice. The empanadas were the clear favorite for appetizers, and every entree was enjoyed. However, the group's ultimate favorite was the butter provided with the bread. We couldn't get enough of it that night, even though we weren't quite sure what was in it.
Let me begin by saying that this restaurant has a nice atmosphere with delicious cocktails and a lively dance party after hours. Most guests enjoyed the cocktails, but unfortunately, 30 to 35% of the menu favorites were already sold out by 8:30pm. This included items like rib eye dinner, calamari, and potato croquets. Some other popular dishes were also unavailable, which was disappointing. The pear salad and dessert were highlights of the meal for me. However, many in our group who ordered meat dishes requested medium rare or medium cooked, but they were served medium to well done. Some diners on one side of the table even went without eating because their orders were incorrect. The other side felt the food was just average and nothing special. Overall, the food was edible but not outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and the owner was also nice. The restaurant could benefit from improving the dining experience, introducing new recipes, and addressing the gaps in service. Happy Eating!
The restaurant was not very busy on a Saturday night, possibly due to the rain and the large size of the establishment. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered an appetizer and an entree to share. The waitress kept pushing me to order more, so I ended up getting a side dish as well. The bread was salty and came with crab dip, which was okay but I would have preferred butter or olive oil. The mussels were good and there were plenty of them. The calamari was advertised for two people but was enough for four. The penne alla vodka and seafood linguine were both heavy on the sauce and very large portions. The half chicken was also heavy on sauce and had a sweet flavor that I didn't care for. It took a long time for the food to come out, and the waitress was not very forthcoming about the wait time. The grilled asparagus was bland and undercooked. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable, but be prepared for a long wait and consider sharing with someone else. The staff was friendly, which was a plus.
We had our wedding here at the beautiful Pearl Room and I must say, IT WAS A HIT!! The owner and staff were on point and very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. My guest couldn't stop talking about how much of a great time and experience they had. My husband and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary right back here. Valet parking was a huge help seeing parking in this area is difficult.
I came here for a Birthday Celebration. They served us very well. The food was really delicious. I had a salmon dish with Mashed Potatoes and vegetables. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who want to enjoy a delicious dinner in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Here's a photo of the main dish I had tonight.
