We came into this restaurant because was closed far and we had a terrible experience with inroom food. eating was just terrible. the Arugula salad was salty and gritty, so we sent back, the pasta had no taste and no salt. it reminded me of the aircraft food to be honest. the filet mignon was not a filet, but two thin slices of bark from a delicate loan that was extremely overcooked. after our waiter said he was sad and offered a 15% discount we were still hungry and wanted to dessert. we ordered the brotpudding and it was more like a piece of banana bread. also they put a pumpernickel top! I can't believe that such a nice resort would have such a terrible restaurant. I'm shocked!
My rib eyes are now the third best steak I've ever densed. I am 55 and love steaks. interesting and very cool unique type of service. while we have a certain server dedicated to us, each of the waiting employees acted as if that was their role. the primary took our beverage order and start eating, another actually took the main course. I've never seen the floor of my glass until I stopped.
The scallop appetizer was one of the best scallop dishes I've ever had.
We started off by getting water very quickly, then about 5-10 minutes later we ordered 3 glasses of wine. After waiting 35 minutes our wine arrived at the table. Considering we ordered pretty quickly, it seems odd that we didn't have our food over and hour after arriving at the restaurant. After speaking to a manager, who was very polite, our food came quickly. The manager said he would remove one glass of wine from our check to makeup for the delays. After signing the check, which was our fault, we realized the glass of wine hasn't been removed. The waitress seemed very unconcerned with the horrible service. She was very nice, but this is hr worst service I have received from any restaurant in a very long time, much less for a restaurant which is part of the St. Regis.
Had a great tasty lunch with tuna and turkey sandwiches. Sandwiches and salads were very well done and reasonably priced compared to what we have paid at other places nearby for fair food. Great change of pace and beautiful property. Madeline's service was excellent and her recommendations were appreciated.
