Was Anonym at Sunrise/sunset a mag?
This restaurant earns an extra star because I've had a fantastic dining experience on weekdays multiple times. However, I strongly advise against going on a Sunday. On several occasions, my food took 30 to 40 minutes to arrive—I know this because I use a timer for my laundry. Meanwhile, I noticed larger groups receiving their meals before mine. Each time, I had to inquire about the status of my order, and it seemed l... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Sunrise/sunset:
I frequently ride past this restaurant on my bike rides to the west, and recently, I finally decided to stop and check it out after looking at their enticing menu. I ordered a cup of coffee along with the risotto and squash soup. While the squash soup was delicious, the risotto left much to be desired. Additionally, the portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price of $10. The service also took a long time, and... View all feedback.

This is the perfect time to replace the two ACs on the wall. Not fix them, replace them. I would like to come here during summer, but been avoiding for the past 3 years because it 's 80+ degrees inside, which is unsafe for workers and unsanitary for the kitchen. Feels like a wet sauna in July August. Looking forward to seeing them replaced in the next few months.

Best food, great coffee, angry kitchen noises add the charm ! Love from sunrise to sunset

Coffee is always consistently good. Ordered the egg sandwich… it was tasty but I feel like the egg sandwich would benefit from two eggs instead of just one. One egg sandwich feels like not enough egg to call it an egg sandwich … yummy but please add another egg

My husband and I ordered biscuits with mushroom gravy and the sunrise papas. The combination of flavors were delicious and the lattes were just right.

Grateful for this small cafe in the neighborhood. Food is actually surprisingly really good, love the burger and breakfast sandwich. Coffee can be hit or miss but gets the job done

Love sunrise / sunset. Coffee always on point, w good food to fit!! beautiful workspace is a bonus!!

My partner and i came here for brunch and ordered two items with sides. The first item came after about 40 minutes and the second and it's side 15 minutes later. We informed them that we were still waiting on another side of potatoes but never got it and left after another 20 minutes had passed. The food was good but service was very disorganized and we really would've liked to have gotten all of the food we paid for as well as being able to eat together.

I really like this spot, the food coffee and vibes are good, but it 's incredibly disorganized. Every time. There are currently 4 orders of plated food that have been sitting at the espresso machine for at least 15 minutes while the barista makes drinks over them and doesn 't deliver them to anyone. Seems like kitchen, barista and register are all their own entities and don 't know how to help each other out or communicate. Any time I 've been here, there are always drinks left sitting on the bar until they 're cold because customers aren 't told that they will be put there and not brought to them. Many think this is a sit down cafe where they will be served and they need to understand that it 's not when they order. It 's easy to have a script: "Your drink will be placed right here on the bar in 5 minutes (or be real, tell someone if it 's going to be 30 minutes if it 's going to be 30 minutes). Honestly, the coffee takes forever to get made and it is going to drive away people that are coming only for a quick stop. This place would be awesome and a lot less stressful for everyone working here if there was an actual system or flow set in place. Customers are already getting upset with the person up front on register who is super busy with the line. I 'd hate for this place to get a bad rep because I like it.I 'd also suggest not accepting online orders during the rush on weekends if the staff isn 't capable of keeping up. I 've never understood why owners allow this.

I came on a weekend in the afternoon. The place was busy. My latte came out quickly. The food took awhile but I knew it would because that's pretty much the standard at every place in Brooklyn serving food on the weekend. (It's been that way for the 20 years I've lived in Brooklyn by the way. Moral of the story: don't go to places on the weekend in Brooklyn starving and needing caffeine immediately. You will be setting yourself up for disappointment, no matter where you go. As far as the food goes, the offerings are good and made thoughtfully with quality ingredients. Both the Biscuits and Gravy and Kale Salad hit the spot. I appreciate that they let me work on a laptop on the weekend, too. It's that rare combo of a place: seriously good food and drinks, loungey enough for drinks with friends, spacious enough to get some work done. Spots like this are hard to find.

Best Portobello mushroom sandwiches everr, even when they are tired or lazy they still make them the best. 4 stars ‘cause it’s unbearable to sit inside, it’s crazy suffocating hot even in fall, basically like sauna. I like this place and I would love to sit there and enjoy my morning coffee but it’s unbearable for people that have any medical conditions with heart, blood vessels or lungs, in summer I almost fainted after 5 mins being there…guys, you need a fan or better two, one ceiling fan far away somewhere in the corner does nothing

The burger was fantastic. The risotto was decent, but I wasn't a fan of the loud jazz music.

This is a fantastic breakfast spot located in a Brooklyn neighborhood. The service was excellent, and I really appreciated the cafe's layout. The large front windows bring in plenty of natural light. The food was outstanding, and I also enjoyed the chai.

This is honestly the best breakfast spot I've come across in Bushwick. I really enjoy this place, which is conveniently located along a street with a great bike lane. While it can be a bit pricey, they serve excellent coffee and offer a pleasant atmosphere for hanging out. There are also outdoor booths and benches available. The food does take some time to arrive and can vary based on who is working in the kitchen, but overall it's a fun place to visit.

I really enjoy this spot. It has a cozy and calm atmosphere, perfect for brunch or settling in to study. The food can occasionally take some time to arrive, but the quality is consistently good. Their French toast is excellent. The drinks are tasty, though the iced cappuccinos aren’t always very strong. Aside from that, I always love coming back here.

Sunrise/Sunset is a charming place for breakfast! I really enjoyed the French toast and avocado toast from their menu. Everything left a fantastic impression. I’ll definitely be returning!

I really want to love this place. It's super close to my apartment, has excellent outdoor seating, and is a small business located in Bushwick. Seriously, I want to come here for breakfast, grab coffee, and even return for drinks after work. I've tried this spot at least three times, and each time I've been disappointed and mostly frustrated. It's frustrating because a simple iced latte ends up taking 30 to 40 minutes, no matter how many people are there. I understand that staffing can be a challenge, but this has been the same issue I've faced for the past two years, and it never seems to improve. I think a previous reviewer mentioned it, but there’s a lack of urgency. While coffee doesn’t require that everything be dropped, as a paying customer, it’s unacceptable that no other coffee shop would ever expect customers to wait around for 30 minutes. I've tried stopping by at different times of day, hoping things would be better, but I always find a long line out the door with people waiting for coffee or food. I’m going to give this place another shot because, again, it's so close, I love the concept, and I'm hopeful things will start to improve.

I really enjoy this place; the food, coffee, and atmosphere are great. However, it’s incredibly disorganized every time I visit. Right now, there are four plated orders just sitting at the espresso machine for at least 15 minutes while the barista makes drinks without delivering them. It feels like the kitchen, barista, and cash register are all operating independently and don’t know how to communicate or assist each other. Whenever I’m here, I notice that drinks often get left on the bar until they cool down because customers aren’t informed that they need to pick them up from there. Many people assume it’s a sit-down café where they’ll be served, but they need to be made aware that this is not the case when they place their orders. It wouldn’t be difficult to establish a simple system, like saying, "Your drink will be on the bar in 5 minutes," or, to be honest, letting someone know if it’s going to take 30 minutes. Honestly, the coffee takes far too long to prepare, which is going to deter people looking for a quick stop. This place could be fantastic and a lot less stressful for the staff if there were a proper system or workflow in place. Customers are already getting frustrated with the cashier, who is overwhelmed with the line. I would hate for this place to get a bad reputation because I really like it. I’d also recommend not accepting online orders during busy weekends if the staff isn’t able to keep up. I’ve never understood why owners allow this to happen.
