Contribute FeedbackOn our first day in Brooklyn, we decided to dine at Sonora, a restaurant near our apartment. We arrived without a reservation at 8:30 and were told there were no available tables. We waited at the bar for 30 minutes, but still no table was available. Finally, I suggested to the manager that they either find us a table or we would leave. Fortunately, they were able to secure an outdoor table for us and took our food order. Our main dishes arrived, but then we were completely forgotten about by the restaurant staff. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I had to get up and ask for the check. No one had cleared our plates or asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert. We were left to fend for ourselves after the meal. It was a disappointing and frustrating experience for the three of us who were exhausted from traveling. I hope that Sonora treats out-of-towners better than they did us on that Saturday night. Based on our experience, the jury is still out on whether or not I would recommend this restaurant.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The music was a bit loud, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was tasty and the portion size was just right. However, my dish could have used some more salt. I would definitely consider giving this place another try.
The servers and staff at the restaurant provided a warm and inviting atmosphere for my family.
Our first day in brooklyn and we wanted to show up for the night. sonora sounded good and was close to our apartment so we did not book a problem for 8.30. but when we arrived there was no table and a very lively restaurant. for 30 minutes. after 9 and no sign of a table I proposed to the manager? that they find us one or we take away. for the happiness, an externally secured and our food order was accepted. our main thing came, but after we have completely forgotten the restaurant. after approx. 20 minutes waiting time I decided to get up and ask for the invoice/check. No one has deleted our plates. Nobody asked us if we want coffee or dessert. we were just left to our own devices after the net. we could see that many waiting employees were talking and hanging around with others, but no one approached us so that we detached. what should have been for a delightful evening for 3 very jet-lagged people, was unnecessary angst-y and a master class in bad customer service. I hope sincerely, sonora treat not-local better than my party of 3 on Saturday night. based on our experience last weekend, the jury is good and really out.
