This restaurant transports me back to Hawaii every time I visit. They serve fantastic, authentic Hawaiian dishes, along with fun Hawaiian-style juices that you can mix with your choice of liquor. The staff is incredibly friendly as well. I highly recommend checking this place out!
Onomea's take on the Hawaiian Loco Moco is my favorite so far; it's incredibly sweet and tender. During my last visit, I indulged in their wild boar special. While the dish was slightly salty, the side of potato salad balanced it nicely. The sautéed onion slices complemented the meat perfectly. The restaurant has space for a small crowd, and although the music was a bit loud, the staff were helpful when I requested it to be turned down since the place wasn't full. I really appreciate that kind of attention. It's definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very calming and pristine. The waiter we had on my last visit was exceptional—attentive and fantastic. I've never felt so welcomed and appreciated, except in upscale hotel restaurants. The food is straightforward, but simply delicious.
Every time I miss Hawaii I head to this place and it brings me right back. It's a taste of Hawaii right in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Yummy authentic Hawaiian food with friendly staff. You should definitely check it out.
