Reviews summary
Nestled in Prospect Heights, this intimate restaurant serves up authentic Louisiana cuisine that leaves diners both satisfied and eager for more. Signature dishes like Crawfish Étouffée and po' boys tantalize with rich flavors, though some patrons find the portions on the smaller side given the prices. The gumbo stands out with its deep, toasty roux while the sesame rolls provide a delightful, nutty base. Although the ambiance is cozy and inviting, with great music and excellent wine, a more adventurous hot sauce selection would enhance the experience. Overall, this local gem promises a culinary journey worth taking.

Amazing food! I really enjoyed the salad and the shrimp po' boy. The catfish is also fantastic. It's a cozy little place with a great atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or a fun outing with friends. View all feedback.
What Shad H dislikes about Lowerline:
The food is flavorful, but the portion sizes are quite small relative to the high prices. For $18, you receive just 6 medium fried shrimp and 3 fried oysters, which doesn't seem worth the cost. Additionally, there was no bread or lemon slice included, which was disappointing. The serving of Crawfish Étouffée and rice was only about half a cup each, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. Wow! What a treat! My cousin took us to this small and easy to miss gem. This is one of the most delicious places I've ate in while visiting NY. We've add Oysters (the best I've ever had), two variations of Po Boys (steak, and Fried oysters) both were delicious, and delicious gumbo. Cocktails were amazing as well I've has Arnaud's French 75 which was amazing. This is a must have! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–100
The restaurant handles every aspect of dining with care. Employees displayed exceptional approachability and ready assistance. The staff makes you feel at home and the meals are tasty. Next time I'm nearby, Lowerline will be my destination. The food quality is high and prices stay low; can't beat that. The food is good! But portion sizes are way too small. The price does not reflect the quantity.
Food is consistently delicious and one of the few authentic New Orleans style food in NYC.
I was truly delighted by how flavorful the crawfish étouffée was! I also loved that they offer half portions, which makes it easy to mix and match or try different dishes. I sampled the Surf Turf sandwich, and while it was a bit messy to eat, it was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be getting a full serving next time!
The portion sizes are small while the prices are quite high, making it overly expensive for the quantity of food provided.

The oysters were amazing, and the po' boy was tasty! The indoor atmosphere was soothing and cozy. This has definitely become my favorite place to dine.
The food was so delicious that we devoured the two po-boys (roast beef and oyster) without even thinking to take photos. The sesame rolls were soft and had a lovely nutty flavor, and the balance of meat, sauce, and veggies was just perfect. We also shared the gumbo and crawfish étouffée for our other dishes. If you prefer something creamier, definitely opt for the étouffée. A few drops of Crystal hot sauce add a tangy, vinegary heat that enhances all the flavors. While the portions might seem a bit small, they are bursting with flavor!
I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. The Surf Turf Po Boy was delicious, especially when enjoyed with the delightful bread bun. The service was top-notch as well.
The food at Lowerline is outstanding, with the Gumbo and Etouffee beautifully complemented by a half po' boy, making for an ideal lunch. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting, even though the space is cozy. They provide both indoor and outdoor seating choices.
An unexpectedly fantastic spot! I enjoyed the Surf and Turf Po-Boy, while my partner savored the Barbecue Shrimp. Our server was very attentive, the food was excellent, and we even received a complimentary dessert. Highly recommended! Sorry, the only photo I have is of the dessert—we were too busy enjoying our meal to take pictures.

Excellent atmosphere and service. Our server was a delight. As a Cajun myself, I found the food to be almost as good as what I can get back home in Baton Rouge (which is high praise indeed). But this food is both time and labor intensive, so it's worth five stars to be able to get excellent etouffee in such a great atmosphere and made by such great people.
Divine. Authentic Louisiana cooking, fantastic people and service, INCREDIBLE wine. Nowhere better. Intimate restaurant, but good amount of outdoor seating. Do not miss the roast beef and shrimp po boy— favorite sandwich in Brooklyn!
Google referred this place and it didn't disappoint. Katie my server saw one of the delivery guys in need of aid as it was pouring rain and she attended to him and the customers. The food was EXCELLENT and the complimentary dessert I could lick the plate. SOOOOO good.Kid-friendliness: The table next to me had two tweens and they ate everything so I'm guessing it's kid-approved
Super tasty food, cute place. Very authentic etouffee and the red beans were really great too! They also gave us a free little dessert at the endFood: 5/5
Everything about this place was so unexpectedly good. The food, the service and it was like the restaurant was waiting for us to come in and grab the last two seater in this small quaint N.O. gem in the middle of Prospect Heights BK. I had the best salad that's big enough to share, a half roast beef sando, split the fries and rice and beans. Yo, I literally used like 3 napkins to eat the sandwich. It was all types of messy goodness and just enough for me to be like yeah, I'm satisfied. Only downside is that I wished they had something much more interesting than regular run of the mill table hot sauce. If that was the case, ugh!! I would've hugged the chef. Stop playing and go here!

They have the best cava, and it smells soooo good in there, you can't help but get something to eat when drinking. It is a cute but small restaurant with a NOLA based cuising, which I am a fan of! I ended up getting the gumbo and a mixed plate of fried shrimp, oyster, and catfish.
Phenomenal experience here as each dish really held its own with the spices! BBQ Shrimp is highly recommend alongside any of the po boys, grits were on point as well.
You have to try everything on this menu. The oysters were phenomenal, the grilled shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the crawfish was incredibly seasoned and came with a nice amount of white rice to balance the dish. 10/10
