What Keri Smith doesn't like about La Tabun:
Hope this place shuts down... the owner treated his cooks terribly, never paid anyone on time or what they were owed, and never gave waitresses tips... and he still owes multiple former workers money that they never got. PS: if you're a business owner who's going to treat your employees unethically, you should make them sign an NDA first before you hire them. Otherwise your employees will eventually talk to people in... View all feedback.
When the owner personally checks on the quality and service, you can be sure that you’re in for a fantastic dining experience. La Tabun truly lives up to its name, offering hot, cheesy, crunchy, and well-seasoned delights fresh from their custom-built tabun (oven). They show such dedication that they have a part-time Georgian woman come in to prepare khachapuri and various other Georgian breads, each crafted with love and attention. Their baked goods are thoughtfully made, showcasing unique and tantalizing flavors you won’t find anywhere else. What a great discovery! I've lived in the neighborhood for 12 years, and I can confidently say this is the coolest coffee shop we've had so far. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the mural out front is really impressive. I will definitely be returning!
This restaurant offers a more upscale experience with elegant decor and a cozy ambiance. The food is incredibly delicious—pictures simply don't capture its true appeal! The soups were served hot and bursting with flavor. The pizza had a perfect crispiness, and the tomato sauce was nothing short of heavenly! Overall, it was a delightful experience with tasty food and friendly staff.
Very unique find! My family visited La Tabun last night and we had a great experience. All the food we ordered came was delicious and beautiful. It was a little crowded (all the tables were full plus there seemed to be some takeout orders too) but the two waitresses handled it pretty well... though the service was a tad slow. Anyways... I definitely recommend ordering one of the shaksukas or one of the specialty pizzas. The only thing I would change is that I think the lights should be dimmed a little bit in the evening, and I wish I knew the place was BYOB before we came (only after we were done with our meal did I notice a wine uncorker hanging on the wall). Overall, great experience but be prepared for a little bit of a wait. You can see the cooks making everything by hand by the oven so I think that helps explain it. Will bring wine next time. ALSO! They serve breakfast omelettes freshly squeezed OJ at night too! #brunch
