Contribute FeedbackRecent visits to a popular Jamaican restaurant have yielded a spectrum of experiences. While some diners rave about the flavorful jerk chicken and excellent customer service, others express disappointment over specific dishes, like the bland goat and questionable gravy. Issues with service, including perceived bias towards Hispanic customers, have also sparked concern. Despite these criticisms, many patrons celebrate the authenticity and taste of the cuisine, particularly appreciating the escovich fish and spicy sides. Overall, the restaurant seems to offer a mixed bag of taste and service, making it a topic of hot debate among food lovers.
I recently visited this restaurant to grab a meal. I ordered a large goat dish and a medium jerk dish. Unfortunately, it was the worst Jamaican food I have ever tried. The goat was flavorless and all I could see were bones as the meat was mushed up. I ended up throwing it in the trash. It was a complete waste of money. I cannot speak for the other locations in this chain, but the one on Rockaway was a terrible experience for me.
The food at this restaurant is amazing. The jerk chicken was the best I have ever had. I'm not sure what they do differently with their jerk sauce, but it is the best!
Food was not good, rice was hard curry was bone instead of gravy. They ran out of cabbage and plantains and offered dry salad as an alternative. The only thing that was okay was a jerk chicken. Employees the guy that cuts the jerk chicken does not talkunless you're a female, like if you request well done chicken he'll just slap anything on your tray and tell you that's what youget. I requested barbecue sauce on the side for a large jerk chicken and I receive anything from him. Fisherman Cove is a greatrestaurant just not this location. For better service go to Nostrand and Fulton they staff are great and the is cooked right.
On a horrible day, when the air quality is dangerous due to the wild fire in Canada, this place made me stand outside and order my food because I had my tiny puppy in my purse. I was trying to rush back inside, but I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. I traveled a hour to this place just to receive extremely rude customer service by the woman in the front. I do not recommend going to this establishment if you like good service paired with good food.
I asked for oxtail rice with peas she went to the back to put the gravy. It wasn’t oxtail gravy tho smh I got very sick. Don’t go there if you are Hispanic they don’t give the same treatment
