What Richard Sunny dislikes about Cafe Grumpy:
When my friend placed his order, she told him it would take 10 minutes, adding a comment that suggested he might not have the patience to wait, asking if that was okay. This kind of unnecessary commentary really detracted from the experience. I’m sure their other locations might be fine, but I strongly advise against visiting this one. They seem to hire people who lack basic interpersonal skills. View all feedback.

Café Grumpy provides a spacious and welcoming indoor environment. The coffee is expertly brewed, highlighting a roast that strikes the perfect balance—neither too light nor too dark.
The ambiance is calm and soothing, offering plenty of room to focus on work. It's an excellent place to grab a caffeine boost and increase your productivity throughout the day.
This place is absolutely lively! I visited on a Thursday morning and was taken aback by the large crowd. Luckily, we quickly found a table, but eventually opted to sit outside. Their selection of baked goods is so tempting that you’ll want to try them all. The service is pretty good and very friendly, although there was some confusion about where to place our order. It was odd that the payment line didn’t clearly indicate how to order. At one point, I almost made the mistake of trying to place my order at a server's terminal, thinking they were taking orders there. One item from our order was overlooked, but considering the bustling atmosphere and limited staff, it wasn’t a major problem. Overall, I would definitely come back!
The coffee at this place is outstanding, and the ambiance is delightful. It's the ideal spot to start your day with a bit of reading or writing. The staff is exceptionally friendly, so be sure to show your appreciation with a tip for the servers!

The Cold Brew and Latte were excellent! The atmosphere could use some improvement, but there's plenty of space if you want to settle in with your laptop or work for a while.
Your Google listing states that you're open at 7 AM on Sundays. I just walked 25 minutes to find you closed.

Awesome place to work from: lots of seating in the back, fast wifi, and some power outlets available. No non-dairy milk tax, and you can choose from oat, soy, and almond. The spicy mocha was subtly spiced. A bit on the pricey side though.

Today was my first time visiting this location, and the baristas were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were adept at initiating conversations and making the atmosphere inviting.
A great spot to cowork on your laptop or meet friends for coffee. Not many food options but their pumpkin bread is great and fresh croissants! Lots of outlets and tables
The Greenpoint Grumpy has become my favorite local coffeeshop. The baristas make the difference, fostering an environment that encourages routine visits
I have been a regular customer at this Greenpoint location for 8 years, visiting three or four times a week. In my opinion, it is the best coffee shop in New York City for several reasons. Firstly, they do not play music loudly, and sometimes there is no music at all, creating a peaceful atmosphere similar to a calm library. Secondly, the spacious layout is rarely crowded, making it easy to find a seat to work on my laptop. Additionally, the staff allows customers to bring in outside food as long as they also purchase something from the shop.

Café Grumpy is exactly what I seek in a neighborhood coffee shop. The service is exceptional, and the coffee is truly impressive. If you haven't had a chance to check out Café Grumpy yet, you absolutely must!
The coffee at this place is absolutely wonderful. I was particularly impressed by the pumpkin spice latte—it really surpassed my expectations. Normally, I steer clear of it every fall, but this one struck a perfect balance, with a lovely subtlety that wasn’t overly sweet or too overpowering in pumpkin flavor. Additionally, the cardamom tea cake is fantastic; it’s definitely worth the effort to savor a slice, as if you’re on an epic journey akin to the great adventures of ancient empires just for that moment.
The restaurant offers ample seating, includes an enjoyable pinball machine, and serves outstanding lattes.
