Chickens and waffles (red velvet) so wet. So fresh, so delicious. I dream of this place at night. The chicken is super crispy and perfectly seasoned. I brush the bone. This review is for a delivery. Ordered from Uber eats and was uber dissatisfied. Chicken was over cooked to the point it was hard. The entire meal, waffles and salmon pasta was luke warm if not cold and the delivery took 1.5 hours. Salmon Pasta tasted like boxed Mac and cheese, with bell peppers thrown on top. So this morning, I called ahead to explain the situation and made my way to the restaurant. Upon arrival, I was concerned to see that the health grade was pending, and the place didn't seem very inviting for dining. Moreover, the attitude of the staff behind the counter and the cook in the back was quite unpleasant. They handed me the wrong order and then loudly blamed me for not specifying my request correctly. The cook didn’t want to prepare eight tenders and made that very clear. While waiting for my food, I noticed the negative interactions between the staff and both UberEats drivers and other customers. One customer, Mark, appeared to be missing his order altogether. It created a very negative atmosphere first thing in the morning. When I finally returned home, I discovered that the waffles were brown on one side and yellow on the other. I will never return to this location again, as I have always had a pleasant experience at the Hancock Street location.
This restaurant should be shut down immediately! The owner/manager is a pathological liar and a narcissist. They respond to customer reviews with sarcasm and avoid taking any accountability or showing genuine concern. Instead, they make excuses and question the legitimacy of customers' experiences, which indicates that no changes will ever be made. Their unsanitary practices are alarming and could seriously harm people's health. You’ll be served reheated food that's almost spoiled, and your complaints will likely be dismissed. It's quite disturbing that they don’t throw out anything from the previous day and just reheat it for resale, ignoring the potential health risks involved. I urge everyone to take action and report this restaurant to have it closed down! In the meantime, if you care about your health, STAY AWAY from this place—you’ll be glad you did.
I genuinely wish I could give this place zero stars. I ordered a buttermilk waffle with shrimp, an Oreo waffle with shrimp, and a red velvet waffle with shrimp. Not only was my order over two hours late, but it also arrived missing items that I had paid extra for. Even before I opened the bag, a foul smell filled my home as soon as I brought in the order. When I finally opened the food, the waffles were cold and soggy, and there were bits of burnt plastic in the boxes—likely some sort of non-stick material, possibly from a pan or an old griddle. The shrimp had such a repulsive odor that it made me seriously question the integrity of both the restaurant and the delivery driver for serving and bringing such rotten food. I can't believe they chose to prepare and sell me spoiled seafood instead of canceling my order. I've never felt compelled to write a bad review before, but this restaurant poses a significant safety concern.
I purchased three meals from this restaurant. The shrimps from each meal was spoiled, my family became sick because of their neglect. The shrimps has a spooied odor and the chicken was refried. very disappointed.
This place needs to be shut down immediately! The owner/manager is a pathological LIAR and a narcissist... he responds to customers reviews sarcastically and covers up without taking accountability and concern, always making excuses as a cover up or being doubtful about customers issues and experiences which tells there will definitely be no change and the fact that the unsanitary practices of this restaurant can make people seriously ill is worrisome.You will be sold reheated food that is on the verge of spoiling and he will dismiss your claims, very nasty and distasteful that they won't throw out anything from the day before and reheats for resale, disregarding the fact that this can cause major health issues.Persons need to get on board with me and have this restaurant reported and shut down! In the mean time if you care about your health, STAY CLEAR FROM PURCHASING ANY FOOD HERE, you'll thank me later.
