There was a good variety of options for myself (vegan) and my partner (definitely not vegan). The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, accommodating my request for a mocktail and answering questions about the menu. We look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor space when it’s warmer! I decided to propose to my girlfriend at a family dinner at The Benchmark, and was genuinely so thankful for the thoughtfulness of the staff to make the event as smoothand seamless as possible. He didn't mind at all when we asked about nearly every dish on the menu. We even connected over our mutual dislike for new wave music; he chimed in when he overheard me criticizing Stereolab. One thing to note is that they have speakers positioned in unique spots aimed at specific tables, which means the music can be quite loud and not always the softest, depending on where you sit.

The creamy nodules in the lobster bisque lurking underneath the surface like jaws. The lobster bisque was thin more like lobster water than lobster bisque. The steak was delicious but a bit over cooked. I’d recommend getting it rare if you want it medium rare. The side of broccoli was to die for. The dessert was crème brûlée, it would’ve been five stars but they put way too much sugar on top and breaking through that was like drilling through the astroid in Armageddon. It was hard like rock. Our server was perfect. The host however was very snarky in a charming way. if this review confuses you… you’re right. On the whole, we had a great time, despite the room for growth. Once seated we ordered the Wild Mushroom FricasseeCrisp Polenta, Poached Egg, Cream, Thyme, Sherry. Awful. Just awful. Caesar salad was served on a warm plate with warm cornbread style croutons. Unique does not mean good. There was no cohesion of flavors here as the croutons were fried in a very intrusive form of fish oil. Steak was decent. Slightly over cooked but enjoyable. Overall I’ve had better meals for a lot less. This is just not what anyone would expect for a $200 meal. Look elsewhere.
