Was J B at Baba Cool a mag?

I accidentally took the wrong subway and ended up in Brooklyn, but it turned out to be a delightful mistake! We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast at Baba Cool. We ordered the Gabi, the Asada bowl, and the Vegetarian Breakfast sandwich. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the slow-cooked brisket was flavorful and well-seasoned. The vegetables were both delicious and abundant. Sitting outside on a spring morning was truly... View all feedback.

What Erik Johnson dislikes about Baba Cool:

The dishes are healthier than flavorful, and the sandwiches don't hit the mark. I recommend trying the Baba bowl with green goddess dressing and adding jerk chicken. There’s no indoor seating, and the outdoor dining area is quite basic. Additionally, the kitchen and restroom inside could use some cleaning and maintenance. The service is decent, but overall, Baba Cool feels like a college coffee shop, complete with to... View all feedback.

Cute cafe the backyard seating was nice! Food was okay didn’t really like the eggs, a bit overcooked imo and not really salted. Bacon was thick and crispy so that was great. Ricotta toast was especially good def recommend that over the eggs : Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I had a nice glass of wine during happy hour, but the servers/bartenders didn’t seem like they wanted to seat and serve people? It was very strange — I sat right near the entrance because I couldn’t sit outside (fair, I wasn’t mad about it) and watched the people working seem reluctant to seat every single person who walked in. The environment is nice and the wine is good, but people want to patron your small business and it would be nice if we as customers felt wanted here as well! Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Decent breakfast/lunch spot. The service was solid. Don't come in with too high expectations and you won't be disappointed. Pass on the turkey sandwich it sounds good on paper but fails on execution. Apple slices are laughably thin and the fig jam overpowers most of the flavor. To Baba please use thicker Apple and and consider adding arugula for texture and flavor! The turkey itself was petty good!

This restaurant used to have a system where diners would order at the window and receive a number for their food to be brought out. I’m not sure when they changed this, but now they serve at the tables without having proper waitstaff—only two people handle the cash register and make coffee. This has slowed down the service and overwhelmed the limited staff they have. My family tried to eat there today, but it took too long just to place our order. We decided to order from the window and take our food to Fort Greene Park instead. Unfortunately, our food took an eternity to arrive, and once we settled in the park, we discovered that one of the three items we ordered was missing. To make matters worse, we weren't given any utensils, which was surprising since we ordered an egg platter and a salad. I had to walk back to the restaurant, only to find out that the item had never been prepared. I chose to get a refund instead of waiting. I really hope the owners consider hiring proper waitstaff or return to the original ordering system, as the current setup just leads to chaos and slow service for everyone.

Service 5 stars, food 3 stars, vibes 5 stars. Probably wouldn’t dine there again just because there are so many other options. Food was pretty standard but the employees were amazing!

Picked up brunch from here and it was just impeccable. The avocado toast, so simple yet so perfect, was delicious and I inhaled both pieces with the bacon I added. I also picked up a veggie breakfast for my cousin who loved it. There was also a rosewater lemonade that was divine! A great little neighborhood spot with fast service and simple, healthy, well made dishes.

I always pass my this spot in my neighborhood and it’s crowded so decided to give it a try. My friend and I both got the vegetarian sandwich brioche bun with scrambled eggs, aragula. We waited really long for our order and it was mediocre. The iced mocha was delicious though!

Came here for a quick breakfast. The food was meh, the brisket in the asada bowl was cold. The bacon was overcooked and dry with the burger. The pumpkin soup was a bit too spicy for me but if you like curry, I guess it's ok. Not worth it for the price. The seating area was outside in the tent, pretty warm.Food: 1/5

This place had a system where if you dined in, you would order at the window and they would give you a number and bring out your food. I don't know when they scrapped this, because now they wait on the tables, however don't have waiters/waitresses just the two people who work the cash register and make the coffee. This slows down everything and overworks the few employees they have.My family tried to eat there today. Was waiting on someone for breakfast who is chronically late. That might be the understatement of the year. I didn’t want to full up on food since I was having breakfast later. The drip coffee is very good. But, the beef bone broth was so satisfying. It’s a cup. It was perfect for a cold day. It has turmeric, a hint of ginger, and herbs. It’s light and perfect to smooth the stomach. Truly pleasant and delicious. Might be a good soup fora hangover. The girl at the counter was so friendly. It’s a new place. I would suggest making this a local spit not to miss. I love finding these little places.

Such a lovely place to have a cup of coffee or a home-style breakfast. Very reasonably priced and local-friendly.

I have visited this restaurant many times in the past. The breakfast and lunch are delicious, and the staff is amazing! However, last week the service was very slow. I'm not sure if this is a common issue due to a staff shortage at many restaurants. Despite this, I still love this place! The outdoor seating area is lovely this time of year.
