Came here for our Uzbek fix after finding out that Nargis is on renovation. Looks like a family run business, cozy little spot tucked away from all the main restaurants. The food was good not great. The tongue salad and harsho soup were my favorite. Lulya kebab was flavorful and juicy but the liver kebab was “well done” instead of the usual medium/medium rare. What Jessica Wong doesn't like about Aziza Cafe:
I was craving Uzbeki food, and I was kind of disappointed. I ordered pickup from GrubHub. The food was cold, and all over the place. It was also leaking a little bit. I ordered the Fried trout, which was supposed to come with potatoes and mushrooms, but there were no mushrooms!? The trout also did not feel fried at all, and it was cold and greasy. I also got the Liver Kebab, which was just okay, it was decent at most... View all feedback.
The restaurant is clean and cozy, with delicious food and excellent customer service.
Excellent, authentic cuisine and excellent service.
We came to this restaurant for our Uzbek cuisine fix after finding out that Nargis is undergoing renovations. It appears to be a family-owned business, a cozy little spot hidden away from the main restaurants. The food was good, although not exceptional. My favorites were the tongue salad and harsho soup. The Lulya kebab was flavorful and juicy, but the liver kebab was overcooked, unlike the usual medium/medium rare preparation. I wasn't a big fan of the samosa as it was too soggy and needed a crisper dough. Prices were very reasonable. I wish they served alcohol, but I believe BYOB is allowed.
Honestly very disappointed. The food is good but carrots in Uzbek plov were soggy and the meat isn’t even proper meat! The meat portions were so disappointing, it was literally a pathetic 3 pieces of FAT on BONES. Feel like I wasted money on a lunch that isn’t even filling. Total disappointment.
I have found my favorite Uzbek restaurant! We ordered boiled dumplings , manteh, and lagman. The best were the manteh and dumplings, which we call chuchvara. Absolutely flavorful and homemade. We ordered through seamless/grubhub and it came super hot and deliciously unctuous! We added labneh at home for a more sour yogurt but it comes with its own sour cream style yogurt. We will be ordering again and again. It was a slice of home without all the work of making the manteh and chuchvara or dumplings. Thank you!!! We are so grateful for your restaurant!
