I found out about Alex Luncheonette through a colleague while working one summer at Bushwick High School. As a latino from Panama, I 'm always looking for good, homemade and tasty latin food. Well, it was a wrap, Alex was it! I 've been going there regularly for breakfast, lunch and dinner since early 2003-4. Their food is absolutely, 'Sabroso! What Brady Bogan doesn't like about Alex's Luncheonette:
Tell me why in 2023 an establishment that serve the public for profit would not have any English speaking employee to service the customers. This business have only Spanish speaking employees that service the customers orders and make it hard to place orders with English only customers.Food: 2/5 View all feedback.

5 reviews<br/ <br/ 5.0 star rating 7/5/2016<br/ <br/ I've been coming to Alex's for years! I'm a Realtor, so I sell real estate all over Brooklyn. Why is this important? Well, because I get so freakin' excited when I get a listing close to some good food. I could have done back flips when I saw the address of my latest listing. On the same block as Alex's? I will be showing that place for no greater reason than to have an excuse to drive over to Alex's. Seriously! If you guys have not eaten some of their AUTHENTIC Dominican food, please drop what you are doing and head there right now. I don't care if you already ate. Believe me, once you smell the food and see it with your own eyes, your belly will never forgive you if you do not get something there. This is a no frills place so if you are looking for a place to sit and be served, this isn't for you. As a matter of fact, don't rely on the delivery service either. Every time I read a bad review about the place, this is what they complain about. Delivery? Really? No one complains about the food though. If you like authentic Dominican food, this is the spot to go to if you are in Bushwick or close enough to it. So get off your butt and go down to Knickerbocker and Cornelia. You will NOT be disappointed! #glrosario
Wow, what a true blessing to live next to this beautifuly delicious establishment. The closest thing to remind me of my Mom's cooking. With there wide array of daily prepared selections and special orders this place always provides superb quality. No offense For you yuppies moving in to the neighborhood saving a buck here is guaranteed. Weather baked, fried, or steamed Alex's has got you covered. Thanks, we love you guys. Best Spanish food in all Ridgewood and bushwick. They also cater to LaGuardia and Kennedy airports. Who does that? Lol Highly recommended.
The food is authentic Dominican food . This my spot when I'm missing home food . Prices are low too . It would be nicer if there was room for seating .
Solid Dominican Fare in Bushwick. Alex Luncheonette is a newly refurbished counter service restaurant that does an extensive takeout business. The steam table display is impressive with many typical Spanish Caribbean comestibles on display. <br/ The stewed pork ribs, chicharron de pollo (fried chicken chunks with bones), and berenjena guisado (stewed eggplant) are recommended selections. I also urge you to purchase some empanadas de res and a few quipes. These are among the best to be had in New York. ¡Buen provecho!
