The most delicious pancake I ever had...esp heated and served a la fashion with vanilleeis! the sweet potato cake is also quite delicious!
Best kept secret! I love this place. try the pancake and the cobbler. yum.
They continually mess up Uber Eats orders. 2nd time in two weeks they sent banana pudding instead of bread pudding. They have been alerted to mistake and were rude on phone. Terrible and negligent customer service… will no longer be supporting

I first learned of Abu's Bakery in 2012 but didn't make it to New York til 2016. It was my first time there and this bakery was one of the first places I went to. I had never had bean pie and I told myself if I ever did, this would be the place I'd get it. They did not disappoint, it was worth the wait, the pie was incredible. The people were friendly and this place will forever be remembered as one of best parts of a wonderful time in Brooklyn. Recently I learned that you can order online and they shipped 24 pecan and bean pies down to Kentucky. They were wonderful, and it was cool to be able to share them with friends and family. Thank you!

Their treats are delicious.....Ive had both of my sons 1st birthday cake made there. Till this day I'm not sure if the cake was for them or for me and I used their birthdays as an excuse to get some!
I love all the dessert's. You must try........i cant Even say i have a favorite..Carrot Cake...Sweet Potatoes Pie...I can go on
I always meant to come by, but last week I was reminded when Abu's was featured on NYC22. I am so happy that I did. The young ladies who work there are delightful, and kind. I picked up 5 mini bean pies, my nephew tried one and began to gobble them up in the car lol. I picked up another 5 for him to enjoy at home and 6' for myself. The bean pie is just delicious. Sweet, soft, fresh and worth a visit back soon. Abu's has other cakes, by the slice and cookies. Peach Cobbler, Sweet Potato. You can smell the dough as soon as you hit the block. Easy 5 stars. I just picked up a slice of Red Velvet. Wow.

The 3" and 6" Bean Pies at this restaurant are perfect little treats. If you haven't tried bean desserts before, they taste similar to a cinnamon custard pie. The Bread Pudding is delicious and includes rehydrated raisins baked in. The Peanut Butter Cookies are tasty, especially when paired with the Ginger Lemonade.
The chocolate pound cake and red velvet cake are incredibly moist and delicious. I would give 4 stars, but unfortunately, I only received the red velvet slice I ordered, despite also ordering 2 slices of pound cake. We waited anxiously for 45 minutes for the missing slices.
I always love the fresh and delicious cakes and pies at this restaurant, and the salmon patties are a particular favorite of mine.
Frosting on the cakes is too sweet, the sugar is not dissolved properly. The bean pie was okay but I wouldnt order again
When I ordered Strawberry Cake, I wasnt expecting a slice of strawberry flavored boxed cake.. crummy, dry and sweet with lack of flavor. While the Carrot Cake on the other hand seems to be homemade, again very sweet, also over spiced and the "cream" cheese frosting is more of an icing texture with a crunchy sugar like taste. Both the Pecan Pie and Peach Crumble were stale, really stale...

How come there wasn 't a disclaimer which stated that sadness would ensue once the last bite was consumed? I bought 3 sweet potato pies and I wasn 't ready for life after the last bite! In all seriousness, this pie takes me back to when my late aunts were in the kitchen on Thanksgiving and I 'd beg for more. Personally when it comes to products, I like to search for the best and when I Googled The Best Sweet Potato Pie in Brooklyn , Abu 's Homestyle Bakery came up. Google did not lie. I put this pie up with my late Aunt 's recipe and that 's saying something.
A simple storefront with complex and well balanced baked goods inside. If it was not recommended by friends I probably would have never stumbled upon this place on my own. Very flavorful pies with subtle unexpected flavors, like clove, cardamom, etc. A flavorful take on southern comfort foods, but not overly sweet, which is a perfect balance, because you get a hint of spice and a more complex flavor in the pies and batter. I prefer their Red Velvet Cake to the famous bake shop on Fulton that ONLY sells Red Velvet Cake. Definitely in my top 5 bakeries in the area. Not to mention the prices, damn, I thought they made a mistake at checkout. I wish them well, headed back today for some dessert.
Try the bread pudding. Moist, fresh, flavorful!

Got the pineapple coconut cake and the red velvet cake and was unfortunately very disappointed. The cake was both dry and oily — too much butter and not enough moisture in the batter, making it stiff and greasy. The icing was far too sweet, and there wasn’t enough salt or acidity to balance it out. There was no coconut flavor in the pineapple coconut cake other than the flakes on top; it tasted like plain yellow cake with a little bit of pineapple jam. I’ve heard good things about some of their other items but I wouldn’t recommend their cake! Food: 1 Price per person: $1–10
I attempted to pick up 6 to 8 pies for your work birthday party, but it's now 10:05, and the store is still closed. I was hoping to get them freshly baked, but since the store is closed, that's not possible. The pies are decent, but the store's reliability is questionable.
