Fugakyu - Brookline
Fugakyu
Menu
The menu of Fugakyu from Brookline comprises about 208 different courses and drinks. On average you pay about $27.3 for a dish / drink.
FuGaKyu continues to attract patrons with its familiar ambiance and convenient location, but recent visits reveal a divergence in quality. While some diners praise the freshness of the sushi and the delightful service, others express disappointment with an outdated decor, rushed dining experiences, and inconsistencies in food quality. Menu highlights include delectable sashimi and udon, yet many find the overall flavors lackluster and presentation unimpressive. The restaurant's atmosphere, complemented by sliding doors for privacy, charms some, though noise levels can detract from enjoyment. As it stands, FuGaKyu presents an uneven experience that might require a reevaluation for many loyal customers.

Was HaydenR at Fugakyu a mag?
We had a fantastic experience dining as a large group. The food was delicious and was served promptly. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the seating was cozy and intimate. My only minor complaint was that it took a bit of time for the staff to refill our water, but the table did have a call button, which was very helpful. View all feedback.
What Danny Moritz dislikes about Fugakyu:
The ambiance and service were excellent. I ordered sushi, which I felt was overpriced and not particularly noteworthy. However, the appetizers were quite delicious. View all feedback.

Food was exactly what I needed it to be. The rolls of sushi were delicious, the fried rice was excellent, and the cocktails were superb.
Many many wonderful meals between 2000ish and 2019. Our first meal at FuGaKyu since 2019. Food quality was very uneven. Unagi, tobiko and Hokkaido uni sushi were wonderful. Nigiri strangely very large so a good value. Ikura salmon eggs were cloudy changing the flavor. We eat Japanese a night or two a week rotating amoung 4 restaurants in the Fenway, Back Bay and South End. Hamachi Kama was so so. No match for our other four restaurants. Chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki think freezer burn. Service was good. Decor ery atmospheric as it has always been
