The lookout will always hold a very special place in my heart. Not only was it a beautiful, relaxing stay for us but my boyfriend asked me to marry him, right on the beach, at low tide. It was truly magical and we’ll always looking forward to returning!
Just went to the restaurant. Incredibly beautiful location with views of fields and the water. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was amazing! Wait staff was great. You can tell they put a lot of themselves into this place and the relaxed atmosphere reflects that commitment to service.
It's tough to rate this fairly because I was there whole renovations were occuring in the main building. It's a very unique and interesting building that must be steeped in history but has seen better days. If you enjoy the rich rustic traditions of Downeast Maine then look no further.The individual cabins available are quite comfortable, clean, cozy, and seem to have everything a person could want. The views around the property may be some of the best in the world. There is a lovely sand bar abutting the property that is worth cherishing. There are views from much of the property of Mt Desert Isle (Acadia National Park), Blue Hill Bay, and the mighty Blue Hill. A genuine gem.
Although our trip hasn't begun yet, I'm already incredibly impressed with this place! It's the venue for my cousin's wedding, and she can't stop raving about it. I called to arrange payment and received some very helpful information about the area and our travel plans. I’ll definitely provide an update after our stay! We're excited for it!
