Sat in the patio area. Arguably one of the most beautiful spots to eat in town. Excellent service. Gumbo as good as any I have ever had. Flourless chocolate cake perfect ending to a perfect meal. Definitely going on our regular rotation. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Roots Revelry:
The venue itself is beautiful, charming and quaint. The drinks I had were delicious and I would venture back to Roots and Revelry just for the drinks. I would be interested in trying the brunch, but outside of that I do not have much interest in going back. Dinner was lackluster to be honest. Filet was just okay, but the demi glaze saved it! the demi glaze was perfection. Filet (in my mind) should not have been that... View all feedback.
This place is in a very bad neighborhood. Pretty scary. Our table was dirty. Waited about 45minutes for our food I had a vegetable plate. Very unhealthy. Loaded with butter. My husbands food was not amazing. We spent $235 for just us two. We did not have alcohol. Extremely overpriced for the quality of food, atmosphere, and service. Will NEVER go again.
Had reservation for 11:30 for 7. Had to wait for several minutes for someone to come up to us. Had to go ask someone about the reservation? Service was slow. Staff were nice but overall service was subpar. Had to wait for water refills, coffee, never came to table to ask if we needed anything or if food was okay. I got the duck hash and it was very oily and salty. Grits were overly buttery/oily. The overall decor and ambience of the place is very nice but wish the meal would have been better.
This restaurant has gone downhill over the last 8-9 months and we're so disappointed! Who serves waffles with the syrup already on them so they're soggy immediately? The chicken wasn't seasoned and the syrup wasn't lemongrass as the menu says. The crab cakes in the Benedict tasted fishy, which is fairly hard to do with crab meat. Only sugar cubes and Equal to sweeten the coffee. I haven't used either in over twenty years. There was nobody in the place, save us and 2 other couples. What used to be a packed house for Sunday Brunch leads me to believe others have come to the same conclusion we at which we arrived Sunday. R&R is not what it used to be and is way overpriced for the service, food and loud music. We won't be back.

Filet was just okay, but the demi glaze saved it! the demi glaze was perfection. Filet (in my mind) should not have been that tough. The sides with the filet were great. Dessert wasn't what I had expected so I guess I let myself down on that. Custard of the Creme Brule seemed like it set thicker than at other instances which i've had it. I did love my server. She was sweet and communicative. She and the drinks from the bartender were what made the dinner decent.
We were pointed to our table on arrival. We asked for a high chair twice then just held the toddler in a lap on the bench seat. We went and asked for water service at the 15 min mark. Closing in on the 30 min mark, we asked the waiter to put in food for the kids without having been asked for a drink order yet. Soon after the hostess came in and informed us they had three of their waitstaff not show up and the bartender was waiting the tables. Later on they were apologetic but at first they were acting like we were being the demanding ones. I would expect a call with to let us know their issues especially when they reached out twice asking for us to confirm our reservations.
