I had the meatloaf. Amazing, and that's not the norm when I review meatloaf. Went on a friend's recommendation with 4 other friends, all first timers, and all gave 10/10. Terrific food, service, and atmosphere. View all feedback.
What Myrick Polk doesn't like about El Barrio:
Guacamole, salsa, and chips were top notch. You have to pay for everything you get, chips, slasa, even beans and rice. They give you a Greek salad with your food. Greek salad w Mexican, right....the quesadillas were so so. Would not go back even if it was close by. Definitely not a 4.7, 3 at best is what I give it. Went on 4-13-24 View all feedback.

Seriously awesome spot in downtown Birmingham. We were guided here on the recommendation of a local bartender, and she was so right! They were open this Sunday because it is Cinco de Mayo. Absolutely delicious food, wonderful service and a great atmosphere!
The green salad with steak was incredible!Very friendly service!
The best salsa I’ve had anywhere so far. I had the chile relleno and I was good.
First time visiting and we had a great time. My husband wanted tacos see I searched top restaurants in Birmingham. The one draw back is no parking, it was the weekend so we ended 1 block away. They told us it would a 50 minute?? wait....HOWEVER we only waited about 10 minutes bc we choose communinal sitting Chandler, our waiter was supper cool and helpful, very attentive. The food was great! I had a Strawberry Margarita and it perfect! The perfect balance between liquor and the mix. My husband had a local domestic beer ?I had the Pork Carnitas and he had a Rossted veggie tostada. We definitely will be going back. Go, wait, and enjoy!
