Rustic Chophouse
4.6 / 5 (291 reviews)

Description

Rustic ChopHouse delivers bold, chef-driven fare in a lively downtown setting, blending semi–fine-dining quality with a casual vibe. Standouts include lobster bisque, smoked duck, tomahawk ribeye and indulgent sides like mushroom mac, plus memorable desserts. Service is attentive and timely, and reservations are welcomed. Expect busy Main Street parking, though a nearby lot eases access. A notable hiccup: the charcuterie and some cold accompaniments have occasionally lacked freshness. Overall, a flavorful destination worth revisiting for dates, special nights, and steak lovers.

The food was incredible—I'm convinced the Lobster Bisque was the best I've ever tasted. I've never tried duck before, but the smoked duck appetizer was absolutely outstanding. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Everything was delicious and packed with flavor, making it a true gem in downtown. As for parking, it can be tricky along Main Street when it's busy. However, there’s a convenient lot about a block southeast that provides easy access to downtown businesses.

To start, we ordered a tuna tartare and a charcuterie board. Unfortunately, the charcuterie board, especially the cheeses, was the most disappointing aspect of our meal. They had a noticeable refrigerator taste, suggesting they had been pre-prepared and stored for too long. Additionally, the cold temperature of the caramelized nuts and macadamias further detracted from our overall experience, which was unexpected for such a busy and well-regarded restaurant. Looking back on our visit, I feel that Rustic ChopHouse might be somewhat overrated. We opted for simple appetizers to judge the quality before possibly investing in pricier main courses. However, the lack of freshness in what should have been straightforward appetizers made us question the value and quality of the more expensive options. Despite our underwhelming experience, we believe in giving restaurants a second chance. We plan to return to Rustic ChopHouse in the future, hoping for a more positive experience that matches its reputation. In summary, while Rustic ChopHouse has a lively atmosphere, our experience on January 19th, particularly with the charcuterie board, led us to believe it may not fully live up to its lofty reputation. Nevertheless, we remain open to reassessing our opinion after another visit.

I ordered the tomahawk ribeye, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca. One friend had the shrimp scampi, and her husband opted for the 8-ounce filet, also cooked just right. We started with a charcuterie board as one of the appetizers. I can't emphasize enough how delicious everything was, and the chocolate cake for dessert was equally amazing! A big thank you to the chef and the staff, especially Crystal, who was exceptional throughout our meal. Nate and Jennifer, along with friends.

Can’t say enough about the food and service being so incredibly good. I wish I had gotten our servers name but she was absolutely wonderful. The timing of our food was spot on and made for a very enjoyable time. This isn’t an inexpensive place but it also not insanely expensive. I would consider it semi fine dining but yet very casual. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

I really liked it. Comparable to Bull in the Alley in Tulsa in terms of taste and quality. Atmosphere is not as cool, but it’s also not as expensive. Ordered the Tomahawk with a few sides.
