What User doesn't like about Pescara:
The dish I ordered was shrimp and lobster risotto. The shrimp was very tasty but the risotto was blah, and the lobster had no flavor at all which was incredibly disappointing since I haven't been to Pescara in many years. It will be many years before I go back again! View all feedback.
Dined here this evening to experience another fabulous diner before they close later this week for good??? Pescara has been our special place to dine since they came to town. I sincerely hope they relocate to another spot in Rochester and bring their entire staff with them. The food has always been outstanding as well as the service. We had Muscles for an appetizer followed by the best lobster bisque in the world. I hand the sautéed halibut and my wife the scallops with a mushroom risotto to share. No room for desert. We are fans and will certainly miss you! Hoping you reopen somewhere in Rochester!!
It was our first trip back to Peacara in years, and we were glad we rediscovered it. Our waiter Sal was great, and made a good beer suggestion for me to try. Our shrimp and halibut were delicious. We should have split the bread pudding dessert.
The steak was tasteless although cooked perfectly. Cabs by the glass were $14 then $24 then $40. Only choices. The $14 cab wasn't acceptable. I asked the waiter if he enjoyed it. He said he hadn't tasted it. I asked for a sample. Not impressed. Scallops were good. Broccolini was not good. Hash's browns were not good. Never had a chance to complain as my waiter never returned. Total disappointment.
Prepared with care, presented in pleasant simplicity. A nice fine dining experience. Cioppino ranks among the best I’ve had. Salmon with lemon garlic sauce was prepared just right, neither undercooked nor overcooked. The sauce was not overpowering.
My wife and I have eaten at Pescara a number of times on our visits to Mayo. It is one of our favorite restaurants. My most recent meal was the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Full of flavor and a little heat, I am never disappointed with that dish. My wife had the smaller fillet. Great cut of meat, cooked to her liking. The Gouda hash browns that came with it were not as impressive. Probably could have substituted for a healthy vegetable. We've had breakfast here many times-always pleased.
