So we decided to have a few drinks. a family sitting next to us was obviously the same. so one of the family members went and listened fish and chips to the road in broadwater village to bring back and eat in tonic while they finished their drinks. after 2 or 3 round drinks we were told that they were closed around 1900. asking why such an early closing in the holiday period a worker told us that it was because the actor manager wanted to go home early. you would think that it would be welcome as much patronage as possible in shutdown and restrictions for as long small businesses. obviously not the case with tonic. I'll never spend a cent here again.

We looked at the menu online before deciding to have lunch there, but when we arrived, only a... read more The restaurant, now called Tonic by the Bay, was a disappointment. We looked at the menu online before deciding to have lunch there, but when we arrived, only a quarter of the options were actually available. The prices were high for the quality of food we received. The chicken burger had stale buns, and the ham and pineapple pizza, which my husband and child shared, had hardly any toppings and was more expensive than before. The chips were served cold. The staff, especially one of the female servers, seemed disinterested. We won't be returning for at least six months, hoping that things improve. It's a shame that the lovely outdoor venue is let down by subpar food and service.
