Fishaways

Service is always good.  Food outstanding.<br/ <br/ My favourite is usually the fishcake.  I loooooooooove their fishcakes!!!!  For R13, a big round of crunchy golden outside and fish heaven inside.<br/ <br/ So Tuesday, 21 April 2015, I decided on a fishcake for lunch.  But then my eye fell on a poster ... Beach Bites.  12 Fish Pop Bites for R19,90.  I asked the friendly girl behind the counter are these bites like the fishcakes?  Yes, she said.  I ordered them.<br/ <br/ While frying the fish pop bites, I'm thinking ... will it be as good as the normal fishcake I order.  My order is ready ... I walked out, my hand opened the bag and I bit into a hot, crunchy fish bite ...  oh my gosh!!!!  It is deeeelicious!!!!<br/ <br/ Driving a few blocks to home, I squirt over the lemon juice ... and started to gobble up these beauties.  And then I realised ... these Beach Bites are actually better than the fishcake.  Cause one gets a WHOLE LOT more crunchy outsides!!!!!!!!<br/ <br/ This is my absolute new favourite dish at Fishaways!!!!!!

I was longing for some fish and chips, and since I couldn't find another café nearby, we decided to give Fishaways a shot. It wasn't bad at all! Next time, I'll definitely order the large hake because the medium portion was quite small. If the medium was like that, I can only imagine how tiny the small hake must be. The fish was very fresh, and I really enjoyed it!

I don't usually rate takeout places, but I felt compelled to share my experience because the food was incredibly fresh! The standout aspect was the staff's dedication to cleanliness. You can genuinely tell that everything is spotless, and all the equipment sparkles!

We typically choose delivery, which is impressively quick. This time, we ordered the fisherman's platter, accompanied by rice, and added a fish cake on the side. The calamari was so delicious that I couldn't stop snacking on it! Since my last visit, they have introduced some new items on the menu with wonderful combinations! It’s definitely worth a try.
