What Shuang Wei doesn't like about Le Bernardin:
Le Bernardin is the worst Michelin-starred restaurant we experienced. Tap water in a glass bottle charged more than $50, however, the water price never presents on the drinking menu. No matter the tap water is expensive or not, if needs charges, at least put on the menu with price. We, two people spend more than $50 to pay that water. Feel so upset. View all feedback.
Please note I'm rating the restaurant in comparison to their peers.Service was excellent throughout however I was left yearning for something more creative in the menu especially at this level. Most of the dishes served felt like it was made by a robot extremely well executed but felt one dimensional, restraint, and absent of the joy and spark that makes you go wow. Overall, it was a positive experience but perhaps the most memorial parts of the meal were the bread basket and desserts.
We treated ourselves to a special lunch when visiting NYC this trip..chefs tasting paired with wines...outstanding...no dinner will be necessary but after the generous pours of wine with each course...a nap will be !
Chef Ripert, this was, by a long shot, the best dining experience I’ve ever had. I came into this evening with high expectations, having seen you and Le Berardin on many videos. You delivered on every level. I can’t possibly sing your’s and your phenomenal staff’s praises enough. The service was superb, the food was out of this world, the sommelier was knowledgeable and personable. This was a birthday experience I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Thank you to you and your great team. I can’t wait to come back.
Everything was perfect. I ordered dinner and choose things that were in the chefs tasting. With this 1 trick I out ordered my culinary friends.
We were blown away by the quality of the food at Le Bernardin. Inspired by the sea, the menu features many amazing dishes putting new tastes and perspectives of ingredients such as octopus or lobster. The wine list is colossal and features wines for almost all price points. The bread service is also quite incredible. Excellent!
