We stayed for one night to attend a concert at the Beacon Theater right next door. Lobby was extremely cool and comfortable for such a hot and humid day. The front desk person who checked us in was very pleasant, quick and efficient. He provided us with a list of restaurants in the area and recommended 3 that we may like. The room was spacious for the two of us. It has a small kitchen area if you wanted to cook and eat in. We didn't use it because we only stayed the one night. We didn't rate our stay 5 stars because within 5 minutes of entering our room, the maid knocked on our door and let herself in before I had a chance to answer it. She apologized. 10 minutes later another person knocked on our door and tried to let himself in but we engaged the door safety bar. He said my bad and closed the door. The next morning another person knocked on our door and tried to enter while we were washing up. I informed the front desk while checking out and she apologized and said she would Inform management. We were no more than 10 yards when it started pouring. So, I went back to the hotel and asked if I can purchase an umbrella. The person who checked us in said go ahead and take one. No charge. I appreciated that and again offered to pay. Again, he said not necessary. Just bring it back the next time you stay with us. We both laughed. I would stay here again if attending another concert in the future.
Very close to central park. Location is great. Staff is friendly. Rooms are adequate and have AC
Spent 1 night at Hotel Beacon, and impressed with the cleanliness, friendly staffs, and Prime quality location.
Great Hotel and ultra convenient, upper west side location on Broadway and just before 75th street and just three short blocks from the major 1 2 3 Lines subway station at 72nd Broadway. Great neighborhood for exploring with trusty diners, bars, bakeries, restaurants, wineshops (hit Beacon Wines and Liquors hard at 74th!, and bodegas. Hotel is directly adjacent to Beacon Theater. Hotel Staff is sharply professional, multi lingual, very welcoming, and attentive. Happy clients I have overheard include well experienced French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, and Swedish travellers. Very fine and reliable/trusty bag drop with adroit bell captain if you have a late day plane or ship departure and want to do more of NYC before depart. Rooms are neat, clean, serviced daily, and attractively updated. Suites are the best deal for a longer stay with a fully appointed and well equipped corner kitchen. (Gas stove, microwave, and full size fridge freezer. A great and dapper NY hotel. (Plus free New York Times papers, weekdays. So what's not to love?? So book already!
