Agreeable updated clearly antique boozer in Greenbank, close to Easton. We enjoyed a terrific Sunday roast we chose the pork, which came with lots of delicious crackling, Yorkshire Pud etc. With cauliflower cheese, another main and plenty of booze (wine, **** Mary, Stout), the bill came to £89.04 for three. Nice friendly service, including bringing drinks to tables. Only slight negative: the canned music was a bit lo... View all feedback.
What Alexander B 141414 doesn't like about The Greenbank:
Having visited on a couple of occasions I've always felt the owner and staff think of themselves as a cut above. Sure there are some nice (overpriced! local ales on offer but ultimately it is pretty bog standard in here. Much nicer, proper local pubs just a short walk away. View all feedback.
After recently returning to the area, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this lovely pub has undergone significant improvements since the 90s. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all exceptional. We stopped by for Sunday lunch, and despite it being very busy, they were able to accommodate us. I'm grateful they did because the roast we had was one of the best I've had in years, perfectly complemented by a delicious red wine.
I was extremely shocked by the customer service at GreenBank yesterday. I visited with some friends who are all local teachers. We had two tables next to each other, with one table in a walkway. One particular server continuously made rude faces and tutted at us every time she walked past, because one of our children was "in the way". Despite our kids behaving well and playing quietly, we were made to feel unwelcome. The server even went as far as to say, "I've never seen people look after their kids worse than you", which was completely uncalled for. One of my friends, who is recovering from an operation and battling cancer, placed his bag on a chair for easy access, and the server rudely snatched it away. I was completely shocked by the behavior. It seemed like the server was having a bad day and the pub was busy, but that is no excuse for being so disrespectful. The same server even got into a heated argument with someone from our group when they questioned her rude behavior, leaving us all feeling very uncomfortable. I will not be returning to this establishment. Families are not made to feel welcome, and the staff is extremely rude. They don't seem to understand the impact of their actions on customers, including my friend and his young family who left feeling upset.
This restaurant is exactly what you want in a local pub - friendly, laid-back, with a great crowd and delicious food and drinks! It's a real gem in the area.
