Nicewonder Farm Vineyards - Bristol

The drive in, along the tree lit avenue was beautiful. The food was very good and we enjoyed the decor and design. However, there was a long wait between the first and second course, and there seemed to be a casualness and lack of decorum (employees in sweatshirts, dancing at the open kitchen), which didn't match the atmosphere we expected at a high end restaurant. Nonetheless, we will return.

Limited options compared to what we expected. Buffet was almost empty and cold when we got food; slowly restocked. When restocked we weren't impressed. Slow service even though the seating area wasn't busy.

Excellent experience. Showed up early for our reservation and was seated immediately. Service, food, and ambiance is great. The wine was very good along with the crafted cocktails. A very nice evening out and a great find. Will definitely be going back.

Our server, Grace, was terrific. We asked for advice on the cocktails and she first asked some questions then made some suggestions the cocktails were spot on and very fun. The food was delicious. The chocolate peanut butter cake was amazing, but huge fortunately they offered a to go box and our son enjoyed it the next day! We will definitely recommend Hickory!

I ordered the Poached Pear salad which was OK. The walnuts were the best part and the pears were pretty good. The greens didn't feel like they complimented the other ingredients. Then the pork loin. This was delicious. The little bit of mustard seed took it over the top. Truthfully, I would have like more of it. But the dish was so good that I had to force myself to slow down and enjoy it more. I also got the egg creme brulee and a glass of port for dessert. Leah was my server and gave me input when I requested as so which dishes to order. She was attentive and friendly. This was a great way to end my vacation in Southwestern Virginia.
