Great value and delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine topped off by perfect service. Nothing is too much trouble. Have visited twice recently and this restaurant will be a regular favourite. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What Hilda Purdy doesn't like about Viet Lotus:
My friend and I dined for dinner at Viet Lotus. Very friendly attentive service. Entree (vegetarian spring rolls) very tasty, hot and crunchy. Unfortuately mains were disappointing. Although a good size both lacked flavour and too much sauce needed to be added which then made...the noodles and overall meal too soggy. Limited selection for vegetarian dishes. My friend lives locally and neither of us will dine here aga... View all feedback.
The house special bark ribs ordered with pineapple. a chain saw....can not be cut by the ribs. do not fall the bones. as meat. I just couldn't eat pieces... could not cut through or chew through. Finally, I finished my meal in a group of eight, because of the time it took for me to cut or chew. absolutely scandalous for $29.50 they use a pressure cooker. never back.
We were recommended to this restaurant by several friends of us. but the recommended was not grown on the expectation that eating was average, the appetit earlyling roll ok, steamed prawn pork dim sim were bad quality, crispy skin huh with...rice, deep roasted chicken leg overboiled and burned, pigeon with tamarindensoße with many bones, ha noi fritted very bad quality overall for the food tasted very stale and reheated. one of my worst experiences when eating Vietnamese I am sad to say .will not go back.
I love coming here. everything is delicious and its more traditional kitchen. the service is also great. my favorite is the tiny nude soup!
Had dinner in viet lotus on Friday night. great atmosphere with interesting pictures and decor. eat beautiful crispy early rolls and chicken curry (dender slowly boiled huh with creamy coconut sauce.) my friend had pancake as pornstar and enjoyed it. good wine...list attentive and friendly staff. at no time we felt neglected, although there was also a large group in another area. will definitely be back, as it is great, authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the local environment and restaurants that do the right thing deserves patronage. parking no problems to something that is rarely the case in the west end in these days.
We've lived in the area for 7 years and just found this restaurant thru the entertainment book. The food was very good (its always good to see a Vietnamese aunty in the kitchen cooking). The food was authentic, tasty and above average. Eg the spring...rolls were quite unique, much better than your run of the mill Viet spring rolls. I would recommend this restaurant, however. It was quite pricey... For 2 mains and one entre (spring Rolls), the bill came to $50 (which is a bit more than your normal Viet in West end). However with the coupon we saved 25% off that. So I would definitely go back with the coupon.
