Popped in last night (Friday) for a meal at around 7:30pm. Wasn't expecting it to be busy so hadn't booked a table but it was really packed. A young brunette organised a table for us very promptly and got us drinks straight away. Atmosphere was great and the staff were all smiling and very happy to assist. Very impressed by the food - highly recommend the Prawn and Scallop pasta and the garlic bread with cheese is a... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Newmarket Hotel:
of us had a regular special there of crumbed lamb cutlets and salad and rosti cakes, for each featured on a blackboard. Neither of us liked it The crumbed coating was dreadful like that on cheap crumbed fish from a takeaway fish...shop hot plate counter display. The four (generous serve) cutlets were thick , but not at all good. Most had some gristle on the side that hadn't been trained off, and the meat on the cutle... View all feedback.
We went to the hotel for dinner for visiting family catch-up and came away very impressed. Even though I had been I long term resident of Brisbane Northside I had never been to this particular hotel before. All the meals ordered we of generous proportions and of high quality. The fish special of the day Pan fried Barramundi was very good and up to high end restaurant quality. Visiting family will be regulars for the rest of their stay. Well done!
Large group of us (20) attended the restaurant unannounced - staff were fantastic in setting up a suitable table for us all in minutes. Orders were taken and food was faultless and delivered by very helpful staff. Bar staff were excellent as well. Will definitely be back when the construction has finished next door as this made parking a nightmare.
Sub Ordinary scrawny steak pieces, it was supposed to be 300gm rib fillet braziers aged steak , cited as one of their best! Asked for medium, it was well done, dry! Caesar salad was lettuce croutons a dressing! No bacon, egg or Parmesan cheese! Desperately would have loved a glass of water! Could not get the attention of a waitress to save my life to ask for one! The waitresses walked around slowly looking into the distance! The smiled at you if you were male! No eye contact, no personality! I bought s glass of wine before I was seated, which is just as well as I would not have been served one! The Waitress at the bar splashed the wine towards my glass as she poured, there was more wine on the bar than in the glass she then wiped the glass down with a serviette. But was not bothered to wipe underneath the glass as it was sitting in a pool of wine! Grant Burge to!!! It was not an enjoyable experience at all, could not recommend this place even though it is my local!
We decided last minute to not make dinner, so we went to the bistro here instead. We were not disappointed. The waitresses were nice, so service was good. And the food was yummy too. They also had a open mic comedy night on that we went to afterwards, that was a bit of a flop, but we didn't stay long, so maybe it got better. It was rather busy that night too.
Just dropped in here for catch up with a friend. Nice, clean atmosphere, with attentive service. Various comfy areas to sit and enjoy a great selection of wines. Did not eat but menu looked good.
