This place is a cluster of 3 restaurants side by side – Sheesh Mahal is in the middle, an Italian & Thai place on either side. We visited for dinner on a Saturday evening with our BYO wine. It is best to arrive here early before it gets busy – they receive a huge amount of telephone orders. The balcony could certainly do with some oscillating fans, given that we are in the middle of Summer. The lady serving our table... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sheesh Mahal Indian Restaurant:
We were excited that we may have found a good local Indian restaurant. Whilst the owners were very friendly & wanting to please, our wait staff were not. Our waitress could not speak English which made ordering for our large group difficult & the waiter was grumpy. The food was very average with little by way of nuts or yogurt, everything seemed thickened with flour. The serves were generous though & our take home "d... View all feedback.
Yesterday, we visited Sheesh Mahal and thoroughly enjoyed our Indian lunch quickly prepared by an owner/chef from Delhi. The starters of Vegetable Samosas and Onion Bhaji were perfectly prepared. A chef’s special followed, Lamb Nihaari, consisting of chopped lamb shanks, slow cooked in aromatic herbs and spices. This dish was a first for us and we loved it! Full flavoured Chicken Madras, Peas Pulao, condiments, rice and hot fresh stuffed Naans completed our meal. We were very satisfied with the service, prices, entertaining conversation with the owner and loved the food. Can definitely recommend this restaurant and will most certainly return.
I absolutely adored the chicken jalfrezi! The garlic naan was also absolutely delicious! We also really enjoyed the chicken sagwala, it was tasty! A wonderful bonus is that all curries come with rice, and the lady is more than happy to refill the rice at any time!
Well-flavoured curry, friendly staff, ample portions.
I really enjoyed the curries at this restaurant. Last night was our fourth visit in just a couple of months. I ordered the vegetables in mango sauce and my girlfriend got the butter chicken, both dishes were delicious. The curries deserve 5 stars, but I believe the decor could use a more modern touch.
I would highly recommend to try the tandoori chicken, it is the best in Brisbane!! The chef is super friendly. The naan are fresh out of the tandoor. The chicken chadhai is very good too!!
